Default Busy, busy weekend (56k beware)

This weekend I did the following:

Paint calipers and drums red using the Duplicolor kit.
Install DC strut tower brace.
Install Hotchkis lowering springs, courtesy of being bored in February
eDead the rear, from the front of the rear seats back, using v1 SE with v3 on top.

**the pics of the drop were taken immediately after doing so, they have since dropped a little more.

Here's some pics:

I'm glad you enjoyed my caliper tutorial. Good luck, and nice outcome.

Let us know how effective the edead proves to be, especially for any reduction of the road noise.

Thank you very much, painting was really easy and did not take very long at all. I went with two coats (required) and used very little paint. I may have used about 1/4 of the can. I could not have laid it on any thicker. It looks great, really stands out, even with the current wheels.

I only drove on the highway for about 20 minutes, but here's what I think: The TRD exhaust seems to be quite loud at 70 mph. After the eDead, I couldn't hear it. Huge difference! I did not do any of the doors or wheel wells, but I got plenty material to do so in the future. There is still some road noise from the tires (expected) but the difference overall is huge. Music sounds much better, more bass. The only regret is forgetting the SL dicount at eDead.

I've always thought painted drums look a bit tacky.

Does anybody have a rear disc brake conversion kit for the xB yet? That'd be a worthwhile install.

Amen! If you have to paint drums, go with flat black.

My thoughts exactly.

I think they look good without being tacky, and that's all that should matter, plus it was bugging me that the front color didn't match the rears.

how much edead did it take.

I ordered 120 sqft of v1 SE and 3 gallons of V3. I plan on doing everything top to bottom, and probably 2 layers of v1 SE behind each door speaker and 2 or 3 layers in the hatch, beyond that I plan on putting layer after layer of v3 until I run out, including door panels inside and out, and the backside of all the trim panels to stop any panel vibrations. Do you think that will be enough seeing how much you used?

I got 60 ft of v1 SE and 1 gallon of v3. I used about (rough estimate) 15 ft of the v1 SE and maybe 1/8 of the gallon. Sounds like you are gonna put a ton in, but I'd say you should be OK with what you ordered, and I would say the deciding factor would be whether or not you do the roof, lots of footage up there. A little goes a long way with this stuff.

One tip, and it's a big one, make sure to take note of any mounting holes so you don't cover anything important, it's a pain to uncover them.
