That's really funny that you mention a trade like that - I have considered this for the last 5-6 cars i have owned in the past. even though you have a very recent model xb with very low miles and in "like new" condition, i will put money on it that the dealer would give you maybe $10k-11k for your car as a trade in on a new xb.

my mercedes dealer told me he has had people come in with a 2-week old S class, sub 100 miles, and they wanted a different color. so those folks wound up paying another whopping $20,000 to simply trade in their 2-week old car for the same car in a different color. people are crazy.

if you are seriously considering the trade in, sell your car via ebay or craigslist. that's added headache but you could get more $ for it (say $16k) which will offset the price of the 2013 more than if you trade it into your dealer.

In other news, I spoke with a scion dealer a few minutes ago that is about 80 miles from where i live. he has a white, automatic 2013 xb with just floor mats for the sticker price of $18,689 which is what i wanted to pay.

so this is the plan - i will be watching the reveal tomorrow with a very close eye. if the release series is something i like, i'll be placing the order for one tomorrow afternoon. if it is not worth the price vs options, i'll be picking up the white 2013 xb on saturday >:D

so best case scenario: i'll be driving a white 2013 xb this saturday. worst case: i'll be placing my order for the release series and waiting for it for months bc, being realistic, it'll probably take 3 months to get here. (my 2006 xb took about that time when i ordered it)

the general consensus has been (in this thread and on other xb forums) that the 2013 RS series will be "a type of grey." interpret that how you wish, my interpretation is that it will be a matte color as that's pretty popular right now... mercedes has a matte black option in their sl series roadsters so this trend is definitely being reflected in offerings from other companies.... but i'm just guessing based on nothing right now.

but thanks to you and the link you posted in your thread, we will find out in 13 hours and 7 minutes... but who's counting...? :D

Hey guys
I was talking to the Colorado scion rep and he said that all the 2013 RS models will be silver and that the gauge cluster in the frs will start up as normal than fade away to just display the number 10 in the center to honor scions 10th anniversary.

^^ i just watched the reveal and you're right.

Scion XB release series 10 information -- VERY DISAPPOINTING:
- the name is not release series anymore - they are calling this the TEN SERIES.
- "silver ignition" is the new color and it is....well, it's silver.
- light up emblems
- solar powered LED shift handle
- silver seatbelts
- the word SCION lights up and fades away on the passenger side dash leaving only the "IO" in scion lit.
- xb will have alloy wheels with a graphite finish

Personally, I'm extremely disappointed since I don't think any one of those features are worthy of being a "commemorative" option.... they've tacked on a few $50-$100 options that they will now gouge us for by having us fork over an extra $2000-$2500.... soooo not worth it!

that having been said, I will be buying a white 2013 xb this saturday. i'm excited.

Just this week in Denver...I got 13,600 for a 2011 scion xb super white 5speed with 23,000 miles. Paid 16,555 June/2011. Xb is one of the best resale values you can buy. Only lost 3,000 bucks in value in over 21 months that's amazing.

Idk if every dealer does this but I got one of those "we want your used Toyota" letters from my dealer where they offer 120% of the KBB trade in value . I have a '10 SW XB with only 20k automatic, can't remember what the exact value came out to be, close to 16k.

I'm going to keep the xb for at least another year, probably more, but if I get another good offer for trade next year with Toyota I'll be looking at Tacoma Baja T/X. Otherwise I'll leave Toyota for a Nissan Frontier Pro-4x

PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!! so here they are. it was a good friday for me.

FINALLY. I have been waiting since December 2012 for a new xb. I was going to get the release series but seeing how the 2013 10th anniversary release series xb model is loaded with sh1tty, useless options (solar powered shift ****...? silver seat belts...? are you f**king kidding me?) , i decided to save the extra $3k and just get a regular model.

before i forget, a big thank you to my friends on this board that kept me sane during these long months while i waited for the box, discussed it to death, etc. HUGE THANK YOU to pyro, dermalsNmohawks, dcmcelreath, shadezzz, drew, mikey, and company!

a couple of things:

not naming the dealer but i got about $600 off the sticker price. never thought that would happen so PRESS YOUR DEALER for a discount or take your business elsewhere. with an almost 9% tax rate, i still paid less than $20k for it. very happy with that.

car had 17 miles on it when i took it for a test drive this morning at 9am. put 3 miles on it on the test drive, finished day 1 with 105 miles on the odo :D

only option on the car is floor mats, just the way i wanted it. these are my planned mods in the next couple of weeks:
- debadging it (just the back)
- putting in (universal) heavy duty rubber mats (i have used them in my last 4 cars and they're still holding up! LOL)
- avs seamless / low profile vent visors (already ordered and en route)
- sub + amp (gotta talk to my guy... want to put about $800 into it this time. my first xb had about a $400 system and i loved it.)
- remote starter / alarm
- FINALLY, I HAVE A CAR TO PUT MY IPAD MINI MOUNT INTO (link in my signature below). time to copy a bunch of movies and albums over onto it :D
- 2 sets of hella horns...? :D i gotta find the room for them first.
- painting the stock hub caps black

and here are the pics. my apologies in advance for my careless, haphazard paintbrush work. enjoy.

after prep

lunch stop

<3 dat azz... had the hazards on, btw.

I also just got my new 2013 xB. I wanted the BSP and a few additions, so I ordered mine and 10 days later it arrived straight from the port. It had 3 miles on it when I picked it up. Almost a week later, and I'm up to 95 miles :-(. Got her windows tinted today and over the next few months plan to put on an HKS exhaust, Injen CAI, Enkei wheels, and drop her a bit.

Anna, congrats on your 2013 bsp box! I wish I could drop mine but potholes would literally make the body panels explode if I did that! Haha

And thank you for the kind words everyone. It's an AUTOMATIC, btw. I am uploading about 10 more pics in a few mins. Finally got back home after talking myself out of sleeping in my new box overnight! Lol

Mr severed vegan, I honestly did not like the xb2 until the 2011/2012 models came out bc of the way the rear looked. After seeing the 2012 nose and rear bumpers change a bit, the xb2 grew on me and I needed to buy one.

I'm in Miami now but bought my xB (9-29-07 ) when i lived in NY Born in Brooklyn and raised and miss it everyday!! Lived in Bayside Queens and used the Tanabe NF-210 lowering springs and they worked perfect on the streets of NY. Hand no problems with pot holes or snow. Felt better than stock and added just the right look, driving thru Astoria or parts of ozone park it still felt perfect! If you ever wanna drop it the Tanabe NF's will be perfect and not cause the body to fall apart!
