OK, so i just got an xb. I have 17" wheels I'm going to put on it. I was looking at some of the threads on here talking about leveling the stance. Then I also noticed the tanabe thread. My main goal is to make the ride better... That being said should I buy complete lowering springs or just level it out with the trd rear springs?

If you buy any springs they come with both front and rear springs whether trd, tein, or tanabe. Why would you just do the rears when the kit comes with both. Truthfully ask yourself how low do you want to be and do you want a stock feel or a more sporty one. There's a few members on here that have a mixture of brands and soon they will chime in. Personally I wouldn't go spring, I would go coils due to the adjustability to get the stance just right.

if you're set on getting springs then look at whats available for our car and see how low you want to go and the reviews of the ride quality and all that jazz. If you're not set on getting springs then just take your time looking at all the different suspension set ups for our car and decide what you want. I've had springs, coilovers, and air on my car and jumped into each without really reading the pros/cons of each so i was never satisfied on my choice.

Remember, I'm in it for the better ride. I don't want the feel of a bouncy ride like most lowered cars feel. I'm in my 30's and the days of having a slammed ride are long gone. I just want to better the stance and ride.

Just go with the Tanabe NF springs and be done with it, if you want a mild drop that evens out the ride height better and doesn't leave you worried about scraping.

I see you are in the other thread quite a bit. I also see that you keep sending people pm's with info on the swap. Please send me a pm with the install info. I'm going to order them this week and hopefully get them on next week. I can't believe how helpful this forum is. I own an rc company and the threads on there are just people b!itching about everything. It's nice to actually get help.

NF 210's probally give the best stock'ish ride quality . Although DF 210's I think give a better look .

Tanabe doesn't include installation instructions, just go with the TRD instructions, they'll work fine:

The NF & DF spring rates are quite close, and both soft (good ride quality), but with the lower DF springs (almost 3/4" lower than NF up front and almost 1/2" lower out back than NF) the DF's are much more sensitive to scraping when pulling up to curbs, parking lot wheel stops, or speed bumps & dips. My hotchkis springs (which are for sale) leveled out the ride, and rode great.

The Hotchkis springs are a great option, but they lower the whole xB almost 1/2" more than the NF's, and they have stiffer spring rates... great springs, but might not accomplish what he is looking for.

True.... "Better" is a bit of a relative statement, lol.

I consider "Sharper" to be better, but most people think of better as softer/near oem. Didn't really think about that one!

Here are the pics after it was lowered. I didn't have any issues with the lowering at all. The only advise I would give is before you take the wipers off mark them with a sharpie on the window where the ends of them are. This helps a ton when you go to put them back on.

Yes they are civic wheels. I had a civic prior to this and before I traded my civic in for this I looked up the wheel specs and found they would fit. They are the HFP (Honda Factory Performance) 17's. I removed the center emblem and took the HFP decals off of them. I have a buddy making me new center decals to cover the two holes left from the emblem.
