Figured out I'd give myself a decent introduction and figure out how troll-ish the site may be.
Anyways, my name is Eric. 23 years old. Assistant manager at my job...but you guys don't care about the small details lol.
I just recently bought an 06 tC. Totally bone stock with 82k. It is a 5 speed. First 5 spd I driven in over a year..feels Freakin fantastic.
Naturally, I have a ton of questions but I image with any forum, its wise to exercise the "search" button first..so I will. Difficult questions, ill go to the experts.
The intentions of the tc is simple: just a nice daily driver. I've seen people who have added forced induction to the vehicle. I'm a tad turned on by that. Love turbos. I'm actually a Mitsubishi eclipse/evo guy. I'm actually building an awd eclipse which I'm projecting will be over 400whp on pump gas and should be able to run 11.9 or faster once fully broken in.
Welcome! That Eclipse sounds pretty nice. What year is it/can we see some pics? And yes, using the search function will protect you from most of the trolls.
Ttccc-my goal was stated above with tc. I don't need to boost it but if I run into the opportunity to do it, then I'll venture into it. A dsm stock is 210hp at the crank, 50 more than a tc. A stock 4g63 block can handle 20-30psi easy. Not saying a scion can't, but 30 psi on any platform os pushing it. I just want a nice daily out of the scion. The dsm is my weekend warrior/drag car/dyno car
1st pic is when I finished the first time. All I did was swap all the awd components into a rust free chassis. Stock pretty much everything...except intake, intercooler, and exhaust. I got rid of the dual halo projectors because they sucked at night.
2nd pic is when I got it "inspected" and the Kia was also my 2nd car..sacrificed for the tc
3rd pic is its current setup. 7 blade Holset Hx35 turbo, 272 kelford cams, kiggly valvetrain, evo 3 head (flows more air), powdercoated valve cover, fp intake, punishment racing intercooler, walbro 255lph fuel pump, ss fuel line from tank to rail, aeromotive fpr,1000cc injectors, stage 2 TMZ transmission powdercoated black, evo 8 rods/pistons and a ton more I can't think about.

Do your research but coming from a DSM your better leaving the scion as a daily driver and the DSM as a fun car. When it comes to money to performance ratio the scion just isn't a good choice. It's just my opinion.

For sure. I like the platform as it seems very solid but I have no intentions of making this a performance car. Although, I'm having trouble gathering some info.
I started a new thread. I want to be able to start the car without pressing on the clutch. It's just healthier for the whole clutch assembly. I read somewhere about splicing a wire but I wanna be sure before I start messing things up lol
