I'm pretty sure all you need to do us pull it off. It should pop right off.

I've read about the 1st gen tC that they have stiff tabs and a lot of people seem to have broken them

I've had tabs that broke on mine. But the still hold up very well. No movement at all.

Yeah, the design sucks, but just squeeze it from the top and bottom and squeeze it together and try and jimmy it off. Should pop right off. My first time I was a little hesitant because I didn't want to break anything, but when I gave it a little more force, she came right off. You'll be fine.

Thanks, now about that scratch. What should I do to fix it, or should I just buy a new SW cover? its roughly $40 for a cover

Hmm I actually can't find the cover. Looks like they just sell the whole assembly.

Do you have a link?

it is linked to show 2010 parts. have to change it to show 2011+. then you will be able to find just the cover.

What is the frickin deal?! Call your nearest dealership and tell them what you need. Ask them the part number. If you can't find it, then you're doing something wrong. Obviously the people that do this for a living will know what you need. And quit trying to save 25 cents and buy it from Toyota, free shipping and they'll have it the next day. Why would you ask us what to do?!

Got it. I was hoping they would sell just the cover for an 06. Everywhere I've looked just sells the whole assembly which I don't need. Thanks for the info.
