I'd be happy with that.

What makes you say that? 9psi is pretty reasonable.

I'm assuming because the engine is already high compression. Although I think it's a little early to speculate on just how many miles you can go before you blow something up.

I have never seen a n/a subaru motor handle more than 5 psi safely. Now add in the fact that its compression is 12.5:1 and its just a recipe for detonation.

It's cool to see what's possible with E85 only and no concerns about engine longevity. If the engine hasn't blown up yet they need to upgrade the fuel delivery system with at least a new pump for all that E85 and there's no way the stock clutch can handle that much tq. I doubt the stock MT can either and it's a certainty that the AT can't. I wonder how beefy the rear diff is?

So is the S2k, but PTuning pushes 500whp on those when they go boost. The Direct Injection from my understanding helps a lot with detonation on the FA20's.

Fredrick Aasbo's 700hp 2jz swapped 86 was running a stock diff. After beating on it all day it finally decided to go kaput. But that's a 700hp motor swap. Don't see 250tq destroying the rear diff on this, nor the manual trans going out at this whp.

Thats pretty cool!
Lets blow one up before we make assumptions on what the motor can take.

have you guys seen the HKS headgasket that drops the CR from 12.6?

New product announcement from HKS… Stopper Type Head Gasket for Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ is underway.
Two gaskets will be offered for the FA20 engine:
NA 12.6:1 Compression Ratio, 0.5mm thickness, 89.5mm bore, opposed bead type – 300HP capable (PN 23001-AT002)
BOOST 12.4:1 Compression Ratio, 0.7mm thickness, 89.5 bore, opposed bead type – 600HP capable (PN 23001-AT003)
Opposed Bead Stopper Type Metal Gasket for the FA20 engine of 86/BRZ provides higher bore sealing durability than a stock gasket. Both types are endurable against high engine output. Stopper structure of the bore seal prevents leakage even under high cylinder pressure at high engine output. Boosted gaskets compression is kept high to maintain high efficiency. Contact surface pressure is improved via a special coating applied to the head side and cylinder side to improve sealing performance when tightening the bolts.

Is that 12.4 a typo? Dropping c/r by only .2 isnt going to make a damn bit of difference lol. IMHO, you at least need to get it down to the 10:1 range to safely make some decent power on pump gas. TBH though, its been talked about before with other cars, you may be able to get quite a bit of power on stock compression without too many issues if your run E85.

Because for some like me....the nearest e85 gas station is about 45min away and there is only one. I'd rather run a dual tune of 98 and MS109.
