Default bit surprised

05 xA, did my 80k mile oil change/maintenance... went to clean the throttle body... and didn't find any built up black carbon build up what so ever... just the normal oil build up from the pcv system and such...

Pull off the PCV hose from the intake manifold and look inside. Do you have a flashlight?

I concur, my 04 keeps surprising me with the lack of need for extra parts/maintenance.... never expected that from this "little econo box"...;)

I cleaned my throttle body and idle control valve at 110k a few months ago. I've yet to really need to fix anything, I've just done maintenance by the book and I've gotten lots of life out of everything. I did my front pads and rotors at 80k, replaced the belts and flushed the coolant at 105k and generally just did other stuff at factory intervals. I had never owned a car more than 2 years before I bought this xA and I'm at 7-1/2 now with no plans on replacing it. It's stood up to hail, going airborne after hitting a whole semi-truck tread at 65mpg, being hit in the side a week after I got it and it's always kept me safe. As long as I can get parts for it, I intend on keeping this fantastic little car for a long time to come.
