Steering Wheel Swap

Couldnt find any information on this so figred I would make a post. I have been trolling scionlife for years, never posted cause most questions have been asked several times and could always find the answer. Anyways... One thing that has always bugged me about the TC is how slim the steering wheel is, esp coming from an 08 GTI. I was curious if it might be possible to swap in a 2G TC steering wheel? I have not sen one in person so I'm not sure if it is indeed thicker, but looks nice, and not willing to switch to an aftermarket wheel. I don'tknow if it would be a direct swap, if the connections for the audio controls would still work, and if there would be any issues with the airbag? What does everyone think about the idea. I have seen the newer steering wheel on ebay without airbag for around $100, so i'm thinking if its possible its a reasonably cheap swap that IMO could really improve the interior. Also if possible would it be possible to use my current airbag, or would that need to be swapped as well?
