Default Shift Solenoid 'A' High code

Hello, new here - I'm trying to track down resources for resolving a problem.

I have an 06 Xb automatic

About a week ago the little bit decided to stop engaging overdrive. At freeway speeds (60-70) the RPMs sit at 4k instead of its usual 3k. The overdrive switch isn't engaging all the way. If I take it high speeds, and flick the button to turn it off and on I can detect a slight catch in the transmission but it will not let go and shift down.

Shifting in lower gears all appears normal.

Before the pretty dash lights all came on occasionally I would flick the OD switch to get it to shift down at high speeds but now that isn't working at all.

I've been trying to find information on WHERE these solenoids are in the vehicle as I don't think the Haynes is out yet for this car.

Any help in diagrams, videos, stories would be greatly appreciated. I did some searching before posting to see if I could find a similar post - so if it is there I apologize for the double post just send me in the right direction.

I really cannot afford a dealership repair cost.

Thank you for your time!

Misty

Hope it helps.

Thanks - what differences in the trans are there between the Xa and Xb? Any? (I have the scion xb - I had found the manual earlier but wasn't sure if these beasts are highly model specific on the insides.

More information in case the above link dosen't help or someone has some other resource:

Code specifically is p0788 "SL solenoid" has failed (or shorted) and or ST Solenoid is damaged.

Looks like none of O'Reilly's suppliers make this part yet.
