Loose the wheel weights!

I just got new tires for my 650cc Suzuki Burgman ... top of the line, and the tech at the shop said they could put in beads for wheel balancing instead of the wheel weights. Said Truckers use them, and the bigger bikes do. Tried them out - love it. What is known about this technique for the iQ ?
