It's not a big deal if you don't own one.

I noticed this first day of owning, dealership had no fix, I usually stuff a towel to soak up the water in there. I wonder how long before it begins to rust the trunk? Maybe Scion thought the RS 8.0 would only be garage queens that would never see rain.

Passenger seat back must have a loose bolt or something as it will tilt forward and back about 1 inch without using the release handle.

Sparks Toyota aka TRDSparks.com is good about fixing things and really you can buy any new car without having something wrong.

this isnt a problem at all there is a wing sealed to the hatch if you dont put a gap between the hatch and the wing you wont get drainage therefore there is no problem with this just a slightly poor design but at the same time in order to insure a good seal and best product it must be taped down causing the seal causing the lack of water drainage please be aware this isnt a typical wing there isnt a gap between mounting surfaces like most

Understand the water is inside the wing as it's a two part wing and it's not setting on the hatchback.

btw I'm not new to the Toyota/Scion brand of cars. The RS-8.0 was my purchase number 44.....

In other words Scion/Toyota better fix this before my trunk starts to rust. I find it unacceptable that they'd put that much work into making the 8.0 and half assing the rear spoiler the way they did.

Zeus posted a video, the problem is easy to replicate simply hose down the rear of your car as if it were raining and open your trunk. It's not a crazy amount but an unreasonable amount gets in. I've owned other hatches and never had this issue. The water does stay in there I've driven around opened the trunk and the same issue.

Mine doesn't do this. Maybe it's just some 8.0s

My 645 does the samething. I Guessing the water will drain out once the car is in motion.

The only issue is opening the trunk after its been sitting in the rain. The trick with the 6er was to either open it really slowly or really quickly in order to prevent wetting down the contents of the trunk.

Well I washed my car today and now notice what you are saying. I think the best way to fix this would be use some silicone around where the two pieces meet

I could see it annoying. Like if you just hand wash your car, let it sit and dry, then you need to gain access to your trunk...well now you have dirty water all over the car.

What about a 1/32 drill hole in the bottom of the black part?

Oh I don't think I'm going to drill holes in my wing.....

Update between the dealer, me, and TMS we found out one of the problems is there's 3M double sided tape that holds the red part to the black part on the ends that fails to hold so water can get into the wing no fix for this now. Click the image to open in full size.
