Default Will the airbag go off I don't have a passenger seat?

Silly question but I removed my passenger seat and I was wondering if I reconnect the ground to the battery and turn on my car will the air bag go off?

It shouldn't. It will set the air bag light which will then disable the whole airbag system till the light is reset. I work at Nissan and pull seats out all the time with the car running so I will have ac lol. Just gotta clear the light afterwards.

Two questions here.
How does one reset the airbag light?

Someone mentioned a resistor installed in the wiring after the passenger seat is removed. What value of resistor & which wires are connected to said resistor?? Colours??

I too would like to hear the answer to this. I'm in the middle of soundprooofing the xB one section at a time. Would suck if I plugged the bag back in and wind up getting the pi$$ knocked out of me by the airbag.

Disconnect battery when removing seat. Do not reconnect or switch on ignition while seat is out. If you do switch on ignition while seat is out it will detect a fault & disable ALL the the airbags + the auto belt tensioner. This is not good. You will not blow up any airbag but you may have to spend time & money to have the system reset. I googled that process & found instructions to reset airbag code on a Corolla, very simple. Chances are this might work on all Toyotas. But don't know. H

From.my experience with mine. along with almost every car I've worked on. Once you put the seats back in and drive for a few days the light will go out. Mine took about 45 min.
