2014 Scion tC slow build aka Black Betty
BLACK BETTY BUILD
Hey guys my name is James, this is my first build thread ever and my first Scion tC as well.
I have owned some really bad cars if you are from the UK everyone knows what a MG Metro Turbo was, for people in America.... Imagine a turbo version of a Geo Metro .
I've also owned a couple of nice cars, 00 Sti which was the best car I've owned.
My fiancee is also a crazy car girl, owning a couple nice modded cars including a turbo'd tC that was around 305. Who also named the car Betty....
So enough about me! The car is a 2014 Scion tC Standard Trans in black, I got the extended warranty for 8 years so all my TRD parts are covered if something goes wrong... So you will see A lot of TRD parts on this build.

So the CAI and quick shifter from TRD are on! It went pretty good except I snapped a clip to the air filter housing, hopefully I can find another some how. Luckly I have a few tricks up my sleeve so used a cable tie and a cable holder to
Fasten. Pics coming up of both!

The install is maybe 20-25mins, I'll put the pics tomorrow when I get to work.

So below are some pics from the build...
Wolfman take a look at the TRD quickshifter... its a pretty simple thing to install, infact TRDSparks has a color install sheet that comes with it. That you can get right from their website even if you buy somewhere else.
Worth the money.

Quick Question for the masses, does anyone know where to get a bottom air filter housing + clips for the Scion tC?
Been searching for a while, but have only found the bottom box for other Scion vehicles.
Thanks

So I have been super quiet on the build lately.... Couple of reasons
1) Just got married in June... which of course took away around $5000 to my build fund!!
2) My car's handbrake failed to engage properly on the day before my wedding day, luckly it rolled from one parking spot into another and only scraping the passenger side, front and rear panels... (Scion are investigating it) the dealer did nothing as the handbrake works... teach me to keep in N!
I did install the Stubby Antenna, it looks great. I post a pic soon.
However the next set of build will be in the next 6 weeks, which will be strut, springs and a Catless header. and i cannot wait...
Also I managed to find a bottom box to fix my CAI problem, which was nice and only for $80...
About to take the car on its first 100+ mile drive for a long weekend of floating down the Saco Rive in NH! should be a blast.
