Wheellug

Left turn signal went out recently. Went to get a new bulb and the book said 'Varied' so went to the counter. They gave me an 1175. Looked right, put it in and seemed to work. (old orig bulb has no view able part numbers)
Next morning when i got in and turned lights on, left turn light is on solid.
Right turn signal, works like normal.
Tried pulling the bulb out to swap it with the 2nd on in the package.. just in case it was a factory reject.. same thing.. but when i test it in daylight.. I noticed my dash blinks in unison... WTF?
Now.. cant even get the bulb out of the dang socket!

Tips? tricks? if I have to replace the light assembly that's fine.. but its rather ridiculous to not be able to get a bulb out..
