Default Anyone tried an aftermarket alarm like this?

I would like to install an alarm in my new tC (just got it on Monday!). I have read other posts but none that specificly talked about alarms that are made to work with the stock keyless entry system like this one:

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-5X0tqWm...01&I=514AL100C

Are they just a pita to use, or do they integrate well?

It's not that hard, I installed the DEI keyless upgrade alarm on mine. There are several how to's on the web.

For just about $20 more you can get an alarm with the paging system, LCD screen, remote start, and window modules to roll your windows up and down from the remote. If you're a first time installer, it will take a weekend to do.

Thanks for the input. I am not at all intimidated by the installation, what I am curios about is how well a system like this integrates into car's remote keyless entry. I just would like to use the key buttons and not carry around another fob on my keychain. If I don't hear any complaints, then I will get a system like this.

get a viper alarm. don't go to best buys. go to a reputable shop that specializes in car audio and security. make sure they're authorized by DEI.

The Viper 791xv is alarm and remote start...691 is the same thing just no remote start. You can add window modules to make your windows go up and down with the remote to. I'm going to transfer mine from my maxima to my tC when it comes in.

I must be looking in the wrong places. Everyone around here is telling me that the power up/down modules are about $75 PER WINDOW. I was quoted $275 or so for an AutoPage RS655 alarm with remote start, and another $300 for the window modules, all installed.

Should I look elsewhere?

Don't forget scionspecialtiesvegas sell the accelle remote start 2-way pager alarm for a little bit more than that. He'll give you a how to and you can call him on his cell phone if you get hung up.

I installed the exact same model in my box and it integrates very well, plus you can use your stock remote.

Default AutoPage 855LCD

I had the autopage installed - I had a local shop do it at the same time as the computer install. This was the one I used

http://www.autopagesystems.com/t_ins...A-5F6FD435F2AC

I have been very happy with it - Love the remote start feature.
