Default tC Auto Cross roll call...

not sure who here with a tC auto crosses but i thought it might be cool to get an idea of who does.. how you do etc.. as i'm the only tC in my area and the only person in my class for that matter.. so tho every points event i get a stinkin trophy i don't really get any idea on how i am doing... :p

i realize it's hard to get fair ideas on how things are going for me based off others since tracks vary and that causes times to vary but i thought it would be interesting also to see who else does and what all you have done to your cars...

so... type away

I may be going for the first time this weekend (sunday). Only thing is there are a lot of competitive people in my class - along with one of my friends with an Si. So I'll probably do crappy, but it might be fun. I haven't completely decided yet.

I went to one a couple weeks ago with two of my friends (the one in the Si) and another friend that runs his A4.

those of you that say you might be going but are hesitant.. JUST GO AND DO IT.. you'll love it.. you'll learn the limits of your car.. and no one is going to expect you to be great the first time around...

as far as tips go: sites that helped me to get started:

http://home.dejazzd.com/mlouie/autocross.html
http://www.lvrscca.org/soloII/tips.htm
http://home.pon.net/hunnicutt/perfdriv.htm
http://www.tirerack.com/features/solo2/handbook.htm

Honestly.. watching or even riding along doesn't give you the experience that actually participating does.. it's amazing.. and i'm totally hooked after only having been to two events... don't knock it till you try it.. and once you try it your going to wish you hadn't waited so long!!!

(side note: that handbook in your last link was written by someone in my region )

I'll probably end up going. I'm just nervous with the new car and all. Though I did get my first oil change last weekend to finish off my break-in period.

If it were up to me everyone would attend a high performance driving school and to at least a couple of autocrosses a year. We would eliminate at least 50% of the car wrecks a year that way as so few Americans know anything about actual driving.

So, I say go for it

I will post results on our SM class, SCCA autocross car as soon as we start running it in a couple of months;)

I totally agree with you.. it should be part of drivers training or something similar...
