Default Hello All

Hello All,

This is my first post after lurking for a long while! I just thought I would introduce myself as I'm about a month away from getting my xB. I'm 22 and have liked the look of the xB since I first got one of the Scion catalogs late last summer. I currently have a 5-speed 1.0 on order from Antwerpen Scion in Clarksville, MD. Sam who is my dealer has been great! Allowing me to go on multiple test drives with different groups of my friends and my multiple questions that I've had over the past 4 months.

Thanks for all the replies...I'm definately looking forward to taking it out to OC this summer...I can't wait for the car to get in. I don't have a firm delivery date yet. The only thing my dealer told me is Early-Mid April. Which was when I was looking to take delivery anyways. I'm getting the Door Sills and the Rear Bumper Applique. I've taken close to a dozen of my friends up to the dealership at seperate times just to gauge their reaction to the car. They all love the spaciousness. One actually wondered outloud if maybe the back seat is too far back? Like that it makes the people in the back feel like they are out of the conversation thats going down in the front?

Any Feedback?

save the money on the bumper applique...it is crap. Just a big sticker on the bumper...a lot of people end up taking them off afterwards.

Where in HoCo? I've been terrorizing the streets of Howard County for about a month now in my ThundAHCloud. Also doing slow drivebys by The Mall in Columbia (dont call it Columbia Mall!!!) and by the new AMC theatre. BTW, I saw this TCM xB rolling on Ten Oaks Road Yesterday. I think the dude was a bit older though, and maybe Sam was in it. I honk the horn, hopefully they noticed.

Why is that? I want it on there because I could see someone(read one of my friends) jumping on there and scraping my beautiful Lava paint job

I live in Ellicott City over near Snowden and Rt. 100(which makes my commute to Baltimore EASY!) I still have yet to see any xB's rolling around on the road. Although I get picture messages on my phone from co-workers all the time of xB sightings. Only the pretentious call it The Mall in Columbia!!! HAHAH...I'll be on the look out for your thundercloud. I did see a BOP xB from Darcars(their TRAC car) parked at the mall in January. I was with my friend and I freaked out because BOP was the ortiginal color I was gonna get until I saw the Lava. She gave me the strangest look :? cause I had to stop and look inside and walk around it a couple times!!

Mid-April can't get here soon enough!!!

Ah, I just told somebody else that got an RS 1.0 to get rid of there rear bumper applique!

IMO, the rear bumper applique just isn't right for the xB... One of the MAIN reasons that I feel this way is that you definitely should NOT stand on the back bumper. I feel like the applique makes it looks a little bit more SUV-like and might actually lead people to think that the back bumper is meant to be stepped on.

I truly doubt that it will save your from too many scratches back there anyway... Most of the scratches you get on your back bumper will be on the rear face, not the top face of the bumper.

I can't stress enough that I think it looks like it's for people to step on.

Then again, if you want it, get it! It'll look just fine either way.

Welcome to the family, my Lava toting brother!

Bob

I agree about it inviting people to step on it, but be warned, my cherry box bumper got scratched and the sticker would have prevented it.. I think it was a stroller, or maybe well, had to be the stroller, since that's all that'll fit.

No worries though, it so small I only notice when washing.

Hey Will C,

You live in Ellicot City? No way. My Aunt lives like a few miles away from there. I love Maryland, Ellicot is a nice little town too. Did they build a new store where that Live Jazz place used to be before it burned down?

Later.

Welcome. I'm waiting to add my RS1.0 5speed also here in MD. Granted I already have one xB in my flock to drive around in already.

Yeah I love Maryland and this comes from a guy who has lived in Cali(Huntington Beach and Irvine) before living here. Yeah the fire a couple years back was pretty bad. I think they've rebuilt everything down there(don't get down there too much...not my style). For all the left coasters, I do miss it sometimes(i.e. when there is 2 feet of snow on the ground).

Sweet kwic I am jealous that you will soon have a small fleet of Scions! I'm mad cuz over on the Mid-Atlantic board there are all these meets between now and when I get my xB.
