for those who have had the.....pleasure (?)....of driving a matrix xr... how would you compare the performance between it and an xb, assuming both are stock 5-speeds?

 

The xB is so much better! It's a lot lighter and it's much better build quality than the matrix.

 

Its funny kinda..... my mom has a Matrix and i have a XB...... i learned to drive in her Matrix and i must say that it is true..... the XB id overall better :o :D

 

i think the xb is better quality and alot quieter. I took my xb to the dealer today to get some work done, and they ended up having to keep it overnight, so i got a 2004 toyota corolla for a loaner, and i was surprised at how cheap the quality was. it seemed really tinny. and it seemed like there was no headroom. i LOOOVVEE my xb.

 

not to knock the corolla and the matrix, but their build quality is junk for a toyota.

 

My moms matrix is noisy on the Freeway and the seats are very uncomfterible!

 

my sister has a XR and i have an xA. driving the two, i like the feel of the xa a whole lot better (going in and coming out of turns, the feeling of acceleration, etc) she has an auto and i have a 5speed thou.. i will race her once i break in my xa!

 

my buddy with an xr drove my xb and insists that his car will smoke mine. i drove his xr and am pretty sure i can take it but then again, im also sure that he drives his car better than i drove it. a mutual friend of ours drove both our cars and says i could PROBABLY beat him cuz the xr has no power in 2nd or 3rd. i guess we'll have to wait and see

 

they are both nice cars, but the matrix has a smoother ride then the scions. it does have more torque and horsepower then the scion, but it is also carrying some extra weight.

 

can't tell how fast a car is by the way it feels. the scions feel damn fast but they're not.. haha. i drove my frend's loner lexus ES yesterday and it feels slow as hell, but the speedometer said otherwise.

 

wow. i wish MY xb felt fast. but it doesnt. it feels decent, at best. but the matrix didnt feel any better, thats all.
