Default Adding some horses to the Xa, help?

Ive been researching about the turbo for the Xa, and though it seems like a good additing (56% increase in power) i would like some impressions if anyone here has turbo'ed their Xa. Also, what other mods besides intake and exhaust give this car more "pull"?

PS: im not trying to make this car a racing beast, but some extra hp would be great in such a light car. Thanks

some 4-2-1 headers for low end power, 4-1-1 for high end.. take ur pick. And if you really go the cash or know how, get some port polishing and a new computer chip.... just play Gran Turismo a bit and see what you can do there and do it in real life ;)

i love ebay! ive bought like 90% of my mods there.

as far as all of the mods listed here... nothing is really going to give you that much more power. the 1nz is engineered very well for what it does, and thats to be a fuel efficient commuter engine.

twiddler, another poster here at scionlife spent countless hours and dollars trying to go all n/a and came up shorthanded for all the work he put into his engine. so basically, its a waste of money to do a port & polish and all this top end work.

you have 1 of 2 options:

#1 n/a (95whp-102whp) ~$400
-intake
-exhaust (headers, high flow cat, cat back)

#2 forced induction (125whp-140whp) ~$3000+
-s/c or turbo (a few options for both)
-fuel mods
-exhaust mods
-tranny mods
-probably something else im forgetting

hope this helps!

-jon

for the most reliable h.p. a tuned turbo would be your best bet. greddy's or turbo-kits.com's would work well.

otherwise you could spend 1k on bolt ons and maybe see 20hp.

I've added 4-5 ponies to my bike just by jetting and getting an aftermarket exhaust for the CBRF4 that I ride. Let's be conservative and say intake, headers and exhust will add 10HP to the car.

How clearly noticeable is the pull when you bolt everything on or is it mostly but not all mental? I know its not gonna pull like a Grand National but like dropping a tooth in the rear sprocket of my bike and changing its gear ratio, it was all the difference that was needed to make real world riding more comfortable. Well that and all the assinine wheelies I pop when no one is looking, lol.

Intake, Header, Exhaust, Flywheel, and Pulley, About $700 and makes a good difference. Id reccomend that if you want to notice a difference but not put a lot into the car in case you want to re-sell down the road and not lose big dollar amounts.

Anyone that works on the xB & Echo. Just might take a small amount of work to get it into a xA. Greddy has one for around $2.5k I think it is. Then you have the Blitz kompressure might not give as much HP as a turbo, but the idea of having a switch for off/lo/high is great

Greddy is $1800 for the xB model. The Blitz is great because you can choose when and how bad you want to abuse your engine and let it turn on. If i knew how to modify the Greddy Turbo id get that due to price.
