Default 2 in 1 question...

First one is simple...sort of

Anyone every purchase a replacement front bumper...if so, any idea on costs? My dealership drilled into it for the fron license bracket and I would LOVE to get rid of that...I just need to figure out what the legal requirements are for license plate displays in VA.

Now for my second question simply respond to the poll...thanks!

Bumper: might be cheaper to have them filled and painted at a body shop. I've heard the bumper is $300-$400+. I'm sure someone can correct me on that though.

Wheels: whatever you like. You'll get incredibly varied opinions on wheels. You should pick what you like and think looks good on there. Another option to throw out there for the BCP would be a bronze wheel.

As for wheels...

Personally, I like black wheels with a BCP car. When I get the money, I'll put flat black wheels on my xA, then black out everything that's not BCP--side marker lights, emblems, maybe heads & tails.

I also agree with ack154--bronze looks good with BCP. Get a good picture of the wheel and Photoshop it on your car (or see it in person), because there are many shades of bronze/gold. Some look good with BCP and some don't.

Bumpers and license plates...

What is it with those front plate brackets? When I got my xA the dealer put the plates on with these loooong bolts that dug right into the bumper. The first thing I did was take them off and cut them short so they actually fit. BTW, do they have front plates in Japan?

License plates have to be displayed on the front bumper in VA. Front and back plates must be visible at all times. I guess you can still do it if you want but it's entirely up to you. I have been pulled twice for not having my front plate mounted and once for having that clear plastic covering over the plates.

That cop must have been a *****. Is there some crazy VA law that says you can't have something on there? I mean, as long as it's not obstructing the view of the plate, you should be fine.

The cop probably just felt like being an a$$ that day. The cops in VA will pull you over for anything. I also got pulled for exhaust as I entered my driveway with my previous car.

Well atleast in Oregon you can't have any type of license plate covers whether theyare smoked or clear. Their reasoning behind this is because at night the covers make it so the license plates do not reflect properly (so they say) and they cannot read them. I have been pulled over for this numerous times, no tickets though.

Nope, MN is the same. Nothing, including clear plastic, covering the plates.

Seems a bit nit picky, but at an angle the clear covers can cause a glare which makes the plates hard to read... still a bit nit picky though.

Have your bumper repaired, the drill holes do nothing to the integrity of the bumper, it is purely cosmetic. Not really necessary to go to the expense of a new bumper and then have it painted, a repair will be much cheaper for you.

poizenTc directed me to a cool regional scion site and I saw these on on a white Xb. I love these rims...just e-mailed to make sure they'd fit and then I'm ordering them...anyone know of any good run-flats to use with them?? I'm taking out the spare and putting a sub in there....
