Default Weapon R Dragon: Opinions ???

Anyone have this intake? I know it's a lot cheaper than most of the others...probably because it's an SRI. Just wondered if anyone has tried one? Thinking about either getting one of these or just getting the TRD drop-in.

Thanks!

if you are going to spend some money in your intake... spend it right... buy the weapon r secret weapon intake. Its a little more expensive... but you are sure that you are buying quality.

The Dragon intake for the tC is no longer available. We are only selling the Secret Weapon version from now on. If you are worried about heatsoak, we also offer a cold air box, and ram air kit.

No more Dragon, eh? Is there anyway to buy the Secret Weapon as just a short ram kit? I don't really want the whole CAI, plus it would be nice to save a few bucks! I can't really see spending $230.00 for 5-6 whp.

Have you even read the forum rules before "dude"? The WR only comes in short ram format never been a CAI both the Secret Weapon and Dragon! Read the forums.

Look...there's no reason to be an a$$ about this. I always assumed that the weapon r was a CAI because of the price. Everyone else makes a full CAI for the same price as the weapon-r secret weapon SRI.

I would appreciate a little help here...after all that is why I posted...and correct me if I'm wrong, but that is what these forums are for.

If you can help fine...but if all you wish to do is insult my than I'd prefer you post elsewhere. There are plenty of good people on this forum that will be more than willing to help me out.

Now...what I'm looking for is an inexpensive way to get a little more out of the engine as well as produce better sound. I really don't want to spend anywhere neat $200.00 on this...I just don't have that kind of spare cash. I was hoping to pick up something like the Dragon since it was listed at only $130.00...but I guess I'm outta luck.

Are there any other alternatives?

Thanks!

Guy dont assume, secondly im always here to help im one of those that do when i can. But before posting go through the forums and read. Ive been here for over a year and i barely post i mostly read and search. The WR information is here for everyone to read and inquire. Anyone here will tell you the same, show interest and search if you cant find the info anyone here will help you.

Let's just call it a misunderstanding, shall we?

To be fair, I have searched these forums many times...in particular to find information about the Dragon...guess what...I turned up pretty much nothing. As for the Secret Weapon...yeah...I guess I don't know much about it. Thought it was a CAI based on price...my bad. Seems like it is WAY over priced to me...isn't the Injen CAI about the same price as the WR?

Anyway...I'm still interested in what other alternatives there may be out there. If you, or anyone else can help me I'd sure appreciate it.

I myself have a Injen CAI, the great thing about the Injen unit is that it can be found for $220. In addition to this it can be converted to a short ram if your worried about hydrolock, i have it in the short ram format. I belive the Injen is the most versatile intake out there and the gains in both CAI and short ram should be the same as WR.

yes, the WR is almost the prices of CAI, but, if you see the performance line... you can see that the WR develop the same or higher performance than a CAI, and if you put the Cold Air Box and the Ram Air kit... you should get even more.

but i saw your comments... and realize that you want to save money... then go for the K&N panel filter for $40 bucks...

if you want performance... WR ($200) with Cold Air Box ($119) and Ram Air kit ($49)...

you decide

Weapon R + Ram Air + Cold Air box = $370??

What is the point? I'll just get a CAI from K&N or AEM for $120 less.

Although, this noob would like to ask...how and what does the 'ram air' do? I mean, put all the pieces together...don't you just have an elaborate CAI in 2 pieces?

no risk of hydrolock and from what i've read on the boards in various threads, you get more power than the other CAI's

Sorry, I didn't mean to say the K&N or AEM were $120, I meant that they would cost $120 LESS than the Weapon R setup ($370 - 120 = $250). Right around that ballpark.

But now I see where the price difference comes in...you get a short ram that does as well as a CAI. Any other short rams out there other than Weapon R?
