What kind of bulbs were they? 7000k is only the color temperature of the output light, it doesn't signify using xenon or halogen bulbs so ballasts are not necessary unless MAXAM tried to use 9006 xenon bulbs with the stock wiring.
Edit: should be moved to the bling bling forum (ICE)
its 9006 Nokya 7000k (stage II 100W pro halogen)... and i used the stock wiring.. is that why it blew up? thing is.. my friend used it on his tc.. and its been working FINE for the past 6 months.. weird...
Wow, the stock bulbs use 50 watts. Put your stock bulb back in and see if it turns on. If it does, you're in good shape and just have to unbolt the headlamp so you can take out the glass pieces.
the thing is... i unbolted the headlamp n it didnt come off... but wiggled a bit.. my friend told me he saw this forum where u had to take off the front bumper (!) in order to take off the headlight...ahh! 50 watt? so u mean i shouldnt have put a 100W in there?
I looked up the bulb and a website says 80 watts consumption, 100 watt output so that bulb does not belong with stock wiring. Here's a howto on removing the bumper: http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=44668
100w?? u def should not have put those in without researchin a lil bit
hope ur stock bubls turn on....

You most likely touched the bulb with your bare fingers. This will cause oil to be left on it, which can cause them to shatter when they get hot due to differences in temp on the glass. Always touch them or hold them with a rag.
Also, dont place a bulb with that rating in the stock space. That difference will most likely not burn up the harness right away, but it will dry , crack and crumble down the road because of overheating. As far as I am concerned, stick with direct stock replacements. All of the aftermarket colored or high output bulbs I have seen have turned out to be sub-par in design. And the high output ones are too much for the stock wiring most of the time.
