I currently have a K&N CAI... I was looking into getting the Greddy SP2 exhaust for my tc.
Now, i may get a header sometime down the road, but I'm curious about sound. Is it possible to have a "sleeper" with a i/h/e ? From what i've searched and researched, the sp2 is one of the quietist exhausts... I'm just wondering if a header would ruin that..
Thanks in advance!! If somebody has posted similar to this already feel free to link me and lock this.
But is not much more than an s pipe and header at MSRP. At actual retail price it'll be about the same give or take a few as a ZPI or CC s pipe and Alphawerks header.
MMW header spipe combo dont throw a cell because they already put the bung farther away from the flow through the pipe.
draxas has a full spipe AND back (meening it comes with an spipe), and they are developing a 4-1 header. I will have their exhaust within the next month hopefully, and review it. same thing goes with their header once it is released.
I have a stock Tc and i just started modding it. It has less than 1000 miles and I threw a DC sports header on. Nasty rasp!!! Can someone recommend what I can do to get it back to sounding stock? I noticed that in the bottom of the stock exhaust manifold there was a sort of catalytic converter mesh in there.... Is that why it got so damn loud? Should I get a resonator? Is there a way for me to add exhaust upgrades and keep it quiet? Please help
The catalitic converter on the stock header eliminates all that rasp from just a header alone, the reason why those headers give a nice amount of HP is mostly because of increase flow from taking off the catalitic converter. I had my stock header on and stock piping, I went and took out the resonator and put on a flowmaster and I had nasty very bad rasp during the first 10 minutes of driving, the rasp when away but didnt sound nice at all. I installed the resonator back on and voila! it sounds nice and quiet with a nice growl.
Another guy on these forums put on the alphawerks header and put on 2 MORE resonators and still had nasty rasp! Is the awful exhaust tone worth 8 hp?

Well is there anyone out there that has a header installed without rasp? Do I maybe need to put a new donut gasket in? I figured I didn't cause the car is still brand new. I did replace the header gasket... I just wanna keep the header with the HP gain, but want to keep it quiet... Does anyone have any suggestions? I'm desperate.
well I put 500 on it so far and still got the rasp. I figured it might be cause the piping get crimped at the stock resonator and goes down from a 2.25 inch to 2 inch. So I ordered an axleback, and I'm gonna put in two stainless straight through 2.25 resonators. Hopefully that'll help. Also I'm sure everyone can see I'm a noob, does an intake chang your exhaust note? Or does it just add noise from under the hood? Just ordered a typhoon....
