Default Tell me about the 06 xB

Ok guys, lol I never thought I would be saying this, but lately the xB is winning me over..I'm an 05 tC driver and I have this bug to go look at xB's. So what are the common problems you guys face? we have hatch rattle, etc. I remember seeing some issue about your throttle cables needing to be adjusted..is there anything I need to know about the xB, common issues, etc.

the Camry motor is strong and reliable, can I expect similar results with the echo motor the xB employs? Is it something I can not worry about reving on day in and day out since it is a bit underpowered?

Looking forward to your comments and tips, advice etc.

p.s. I like Camo..lol if you got a camo xB just post pics

Also, accessories that are must haves?

Reliable yes! Strong, no. It's weak, but if you're important, people will wait . As for problems like rattle, throttle cable, etc. I believe the 05's have had most of the bugs from the 03's and 04's worked out, like noises and a/c problems, ect. I don't have a single thing wrong with my 05. The only issues i can think of is the aggrivating interior panels. Touch it with a sweaty hand or greasy hand and you'll have white marks everywhere that you'll have to buff out. The only annoiance that i have is a loose gas tank heat sheild. Come loose from exhaust vibrations and my system didn't help, ha. I've had the car up in the air several times trying to find a way to solve it. Only way i'be been able to eliminate it is to be ghetto and stuff foam into it.

yeah well like I said speed isn't an issue with this purchase, I will have an EG hatch and I could turbo it and be fast, and cheap, and be easy to work on, its paid for...and my dreams for the tC can never be fulfilled as its costly on top of payments, on top of a brand new car...I would rather have space, MPG, and stereo for trips, and beat on the Civic on the weekends ya know? You guys feel free to comment, things you like, don't like...what mods you have, are they worth it etc.

i was joking about the trade, hehe. Well, coming from my civic this is a BIG change. I had a turbocharged 02 ex coupe:

So i had to get use to the power that the 1nz is lacking. You'll find out the first time you hit the gas that there is NO difference in power between 1/2 throttle and WOT.

As far as the fit and finish, it's exactly what you'd expect from toyota. Everything flows seamlessly, and most everything feels quality. Not really much else to say other than it was a HUGE change but i adjusted quickly and as it may be hard to believe, but i love my scion more so than i ever did for my civic! Boost was nice, but the box.......... probably the same reason you keep eyeing one.........there's just something about it!

Us honda guys are all the same!!! I'm throwing some $$$$ to the side to get an old EG. Swap in a b18c1 with a full race S1 turbo kit

I'ma have alot of fun with it. Championship white, white rota's, etc (Type-R scheme). Stripped and sprayed interior. AHHH, now you've got me back to thinking about this. I'll be thinking about it none stop for the next few days now, hahaha.

"Power" mods are a waste of money IMO, only worth it for show and sound.
Suspension is were the box is FUN! Anything and everything here is worth it!
I.C.E is a nice place to throw some decent cash into. Nothing like a rolling theater!

I've owned two Civic Hatchbacks... both were 6th gens..

One 96 w/ all plastic painted, cf hood, del sols seats, wheels, suspension, alarm
The other was a 98 hatch but my mom totalled it while we were driving it home

I've noticed now that my xB just hit 1300 miles that it has more then enough pickup for me. I will admit that I sometimes get rentals so if I have a need to beat the crap outta something, I use a rental.

Going from a civic to an xB is a jump but I don't think it'll be anything you'd regret. I love my xB.

I should mention when I was car shopping that I told myself I wouldn't buy something I could modify - boy what a mistake I've made buying an xB but I'm lucky in the fact that my checkbook no longer is just mine and I share it w/ my partner.

If you have any specific questions about an 06 xB, shoot them my way. I've had mine since 08/17/05 and she just hit 1300 miles today.

I owned an EG FERIO (4dr, frost white) with B18C5 heart with bunch of internal works, 4-2-1 DC header, full DC2 leather interior, full C-West body kit (lip, side skirts) and XENON rear bumper (extremely rare, cuz this is 4dr Civic), SI Rims, Koni Yellow & Eibach for suspension, Acura TL HID system (no conversion kit cheappy) and all other crap Car run really really strong, 225hp on a light body = kick asses.
Since I live in SoCal, I had to deal with smog, CARB and ____ty cops ... so I sold my Ferio for over 10G. Damn it, I miss her so ******* muchhhhh !
