Is heel toe shifting bad for my transmission?

Default Is heel toe shifting bad for my transmission?

I am just talking about everyday driving here. I ve been practicing my heel toe down shift when i get off the highway. Is this bad?

No, as long as you're rev-matching alright.

If you're not rev-matching well, that would put a lot of wear on the synchros.

You might be burning a little more gas than necessary, but you're not hurting the car.

Newb question: what is hell-tow shifting? Is this the same as downshifting?

it is actually better for the clutch
since you are matching engine speed with flywheel speed (ideally, when it's done right)
this will save the clutch material by not making it slip
this is also how you drive a very high performance clutch ( puck )
practice practice practice...

i do it all the damn time red lights, sharp corners, tailgate racing(not bright idea but crazy rush).....didnt think too many people did it...and i never knew the name of the tech.thanx for that

Why would you do it when you approach red light?
It puts less strain on your clutch. It's improper technique to coast in neutral, but more wear on your clutch to engine brake.
