I was unloading some school stuff out of my "trunk" and something fell and put a small ding in the paint. I'm mad at myself because Saturday I was going to purchase the trunk liner and opted not to.
I don't want to use GS27 or anything because I'm afraid of the outcome.
No dent at all. There is just about a 1cm place in the paint that is scuffed down to the bumper itself. It just irks me and I'm afraid that it will start to peel.
Try some touch up paint? I got a small canister at the dealership after i dented my bumper, looks flawless from medium-far range, and is bairly noticable up close unless you look directly at it

The dealership? Probably not, they'd more likely refer you to a bodyshop; but that's just my experience with the dealerships around here. I dented my rear bumper where it pushed in quite a fair bit, so i just took it completely off and kicked out the dent from the inside, and then heated it and smooth the edges. After that, I painted it with the touch up paint, and it looks good.

i remember gs27.. doesnt work too good. Do you have a pic of the damage
i also hate the ding on my car. some idiot opened his door too far and hit my car. how do i know? it left a white color because the car that parked to me was white. last time i checked, i was about a mile away from him. when i came back from my last class to go home, the car was gone. havnt seen that car ever since.
Some dealerships have in-house ding-repair guys who come out two or more days a week. Usually they're somewhat pricey, but do exellent work.
If it's just a chip, you have two options:
Put some touch-up paint on it with a toothpick, then each time you wash the car rub that one spot with a 'scratch remover' or polishing compound
Or, every time you wax your car use a 'color wax.' Turtlewax makes one, and it actually works great on my Silver Streak Mica, which is a freaking hard color to match. Since you have a silver car too, it should work fine.
Only problem with the wax is, it's not permanent, and wears off. It is less noticable than touch-up paint, though.
