Default Any local shops that do HID Retrofits around here?

Just curious since it seems as though most of the places that do them are on the East Coast for some reason.

Lots of tC stuff is on the EC for some reason... can't figure it out...

But, you're better off doing it yourself, as the price for a retro is insane.... a lot of guys on here can help you through it....

Yeah, that would be cool if a whole bunch of us got together and did it to all the cars at once, since i'd imagine that could go faster with all the resources/help around you. Plus, i'm sure there must be several people who may want to get a Retro done but yet don't know exactly the technical know how.

Forgive me...for I don't really follow the TC all that much. But what exactly do you mean by "retro-fit"? Just installing them? Because I installed HID's in my xA, and it really wasn't all the difficult.

But even if you mean more than that, I'm sure people around here can help you. Or, if you take it to a few local shops to your area, I'm sure they would at least take a look at it.

That would be cool.... I might be game if someone who's done it already helps out... I can take it all apart... I just don't know which parts to use to get the best effect (Shrouds and stuff)....

BTW... where'd you get a S200 Antenna???? LOL....

Must be a new honda model... Just kidding (your signature is off a bit)

If you're looking to just buy HID's and have them installed, try Car Nutz since its right there in Bellevue.

I think we are talking about retrofitting in projectors a la:

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=75144

The HID kits out there as far as I can tell do not take into account getting proper cut off like you see in the pics in that tech article. Too much glare just swapping stock bulb for a HID bulb/ballast kit.

lol, yeah WeDriveScions, i gotta represent the S2k antenna!

But the "retrofit" that I am talking about doing is a complete retrofit of the headlights and isn't the regular "plug and play" kits, but whereas you're actually buying projectors/ballasts/shrouds/bulbs and fitting them into the headlight, therefore producing a much better quality cutoff and a large reduction in glare issues.

I'm thinking about doing a S200 (00-03) Projectors with D2S bulbs, custom shrouds, ballasts. and maybe a BMW 5 Series Angel Eyes as well.

Geez....

Retrofit is Retrofit people.... DUH!

I love the S2000 Projectors... they are very clean and the pattern is perfect....

I have too many project on my plate right now, so I can't invest too much time to research this whole thing.... but, If someone gets it down, I'm game on teaching everyone how to get into their housings and play around... I've done it a few times already...

It'll fly if we have more members interested in doing this, and save lots of money on labor that you don't have to pay, learn something new, and the pride you did it yourself!

I'm down with learning this one. Let me know when you want to do this and I will be there.
