Default ***WR SECRET WPN SR INTAKE OWNERS READ THIS***

It was brought to my attention due to my car making this terrible noise internally, that the intake had metal shavings inside of the tubes. I would HIGHLY HIGHLY reccomend that you get the time, pop that thing off and make sure your not driving around with those flakes getting introduced to your internals! Just look inside of the tube and see if you can wipe flakes out, if you can.. try and figure a way to get those things out! I am currently without my tC because its in the shop, and the mechanics are wondering if the intakes flakes has anything to do with my sudden problem.. check out this thread for more info.

** I am not saying anything negative towards WR or their product line, but be sure that your not getting a product that was not properly prep'd for the customer **

Please also, if you do notice this problem, bring it to our attention. I dont know if this was an act of lazyness on their part, or something they didn't catch. This helps everyone that has the intake system as well as yourselves. Thanks for reading!

yea i got the weapon r. When i got it, it did have metal shavings in it. I took my blow off on my compressor to get them out. I thought i got them out. this is because one day i had a cel come on and my car would barley run. I took the intake off and there were more shavings in there. put my oem intake on and had it towed to the dealership. they said i had a faulty maf with metal shavings in it. so i have a wr intake just sitting in my garage. but so far nothing wrong with the car making noise in the engine bay. Sorry to hear about your car man. im still trying to figure out what i am going to do with my weapon r.

I just recently bought my Injen's CAI from TRD Sparks and I noticed the metal shavings inside one of the tubes. I just happened to look right before I installed it. Thank god I did because it seems like I would of had some problems if I didn't stuff a wrag down inside of it to push them all out.

This is a lesson for all to inspect your parts before you install them people. Stu_Gotti I am sorry to hear about your delema.

I had the same thing happen on an Injen on our last box. metal and also polishing compound. fortunatly I cleaned it because Squirrel warned me that this was a common with most intakes when I bought it from him.

Default i know

I know exactly what you're talking about. I ordered the Weapon R "Secret Weapon" intake at the beginning of the year. I also had a crap load of metal shavings in it. I called and wrote a letter to Weapon R about it. They said they were going to send me another intake (but didn't). So, I took it too work and washed it in our sink with the dish washer . Seemed to be fine. But yeah, kinda ____ty for a company to send out product like that. Granted, we should inspect it before we put it on. But, I paid good money so I WOULDN'T have to inspect it. Thats what Quality Control is for, or lack of.

I appreciate all the imput, opinions and thoughts. Ray, thanks for providing me your contact info, i'll be sure to contact you both via email and by phone. I should have resolution on my car here today and I'll keep everyone posted. As far as the issue of power lag, I personally have not experienced this nor do I seek getting another intake, i'm fully satisfied with my WRSW Intake. Thanks all!
