I don't think too many people have tried both. Most people will only have info on the one they bought which isn't always subjective. BTW, I've got the Injen CAI and like it... but could really only compare it to stock.

We really need to do a new and complete dyno shootout. The previous one doesn't include the Injen CAI and it was way before the Weapon-R was even out for these cars.

I would go w/ the Weapon*R. Ask Evildave about his. He pulled on me uphill and we have similar set-ups except for intakes.

I prefer SRIs over CAI also. I still get 30 mpg at 75mph+.

I had the INJEN when it was first released, and I just switched over to the F5 Fujita, and funny, it seemed to pull harder.

ive got the Injen short ram and love it, I just dont see the point in cold air but thats just me....unless your going NA or FI and just want to squeeze every last drop of possible HP

That is just opinion of course and not knocking people who do it, all about having fun with your ride!

go with the CAI ive had it and in my opinion its what opened the car up nice. Previously i had the axle back and header but when i pu the intake everything came alive. Maybe there n o difference in between SRI and CAI, but when its cold outside you can feel the differnce in the low end torque, BIG TIME. I live in Puerto Rico so its mostly hot over here ALL the time and during the night when temperatures drop you can feel the difference.

I live in warm FL so a "CAI" is pointless ...to me anyway. The SRI already tucks down low near the headlights anyway so cooler air is coming in around it anyway.

Like someone else said you'll likely be happy whichever you choose, most of them are well made.

I like the new Fujita ones too.

Gerry,

YES, I like the F5 Fujita alot better than the INJEN. Its the small details that seem to put it above.

I didn't buy it, it was sent to me, by the owner. IIRC, retail is around $220, give or take.

Install was easy, I removed my front bumper cover, unbolted the Injen SRI, pulled off the crankcase vent tube, changed the MAF over, and installed the F5 Fujita SRI. I didn't change the VSS bracket as the one I have was moddd to hold my oil catch can.

Less than an hour from the time I grabbed my tools until I put them away.

May be slightly longer if you have to remove the OEM airbox and mounting the VSS bracket, but IIRC, it took me an hour the first time around.

Default SRI...CAI...

I think that there's probably not much difference between the short rams and the cold airs- as far as air temps. the position of both puts the filter in a spot where air from outside blows on it.
I think alot of the CAI setups have alot of shiny windy tubes that are more for dress up than function, and the ones that dont (like the K&N typhoon) seem like they'd be better, but runs the risk of picking up water splash in the rain. this is main reason I picked the Injen SR.
They're probably all pretty similar performance wise. And like anyone will tell you- They all work better than that crapper of a stock airbox!!!

You're welcome. I try to help out where I can, but sometimes, some peeps feel they have to get their word in edge-wise and try and discredit others.

Also, bends in the intake also cause turbulance which is not good when trying to maintain a certain velocity. Thus the reason why I favor SRIs over CAIs.
