Starting point: Santa Clarita, CA (near the 5 fwy and the 14 fwy)

It looks like if we get enough participants, and the weather is clear, we will have a helicopter flying with us to videotape and take photos!

Are you ready? Getting excited?!!!
For all the new New Beetle Club members and our Scion guests, who have never been on a cruise with us before, here are some things you will need to know...

1. *VERY IMPORTANT! bring an FRS radio set to channel 6. If any of you have extra radios, please bring them to share. It's always good to have extra batteries, too, just in case. The radios not only help us relay information about the route, but they are also a safety necessity. They help us to communicate road conditions and other obstacles as well as it's just plain fun to chat with everyone!

2. Because we anticipate 40+ vehicles on this cruise, it will be important to follow instructions and drive safely! You will receive a map and instructions at the meet place which will give you necessary information about our day.

3. There will be a variety of lunch places to choose from. The nicest restaurant being around $7-$10 for lunch. There is also a fast food and a diner type place next door.

4. Watch your email for any other instructions you may need. The most important, for now, is #5!!

5. There is a Carl's Jr. and a gas station near the meet place. Depending on the number of cars and how long our stops take, we may not arrive at our lunch stop until 1pm or 1:30. It might be a good idea to fill up your gas tank and bring a snack, or have a good breakfast since there will be no food or gas places along the cruise route!

I'm curious why it said more details in email after the rsvp but it's been nearly 24 hours and no reply.
has this cut off?

 

I wish it was another day. This sounds like fun! There's the Toys for Tots show in Agoura that day too.

 

The drive should only take a few hours with all of the people and the videotaping. We're driving over sandcanyon rd down to the 210 freeway. The "mystery" is in the emails to bulid suspense. The Bettle club still won't tell me everything. I'll call them tomorrow and get a firm location with a physical address. It's right off the 14 freeway at San Fernando rd. There's still a day or two left.

 

It's going to rain tonight but it will clear up for the weekend

 

grr. I have the location to start but I don't have anything on where it ends, and I like to plan ahead for how to get a route home.

 

We're starting at William S. Hart park in Newhall CA at 10 am sharp, then heading down San Fernando rd. to Sierra Hwy. then on to Placerita Cyn rd. Placerita Cyn Rd hits Little Tujunga Cyn Rd which wraps around the mountains of Indian Springs and drops down to Osborne St and the 210fwy. by Hansen Dam in Lake View Terrace CA. There's a BBQ restaurant at the base of the hill which is our final destination.
