Default Madonna...when will she ever stop singing

Is it just me or has Madonna been played out way too long...every 2 years it seems like she comes out with a new cd. I mean if you look at her in the new video Hung Up...she's now like 45 and is hitting on guys that are half her age...will it ever end...will she be singing when she's eighty...strutin along in a pink spandex suit?

as over played as Hung up is...I actually like it lol and if and she looks very fine for a 45 yr old lady I think.

I am tempted to agree with you actually, but I like some bands that have been around far longer than Madonna so I cant say much...U2....Depeche Mode....Stones....Metallica....list goes on and on

It just seems weird because she's a female. Look at the male acts like Rod Stewart, ArrowSmith, Stones, Paul McCartney...etc. Some of those guys are well into their 60's and still going strong. Fact is, Madonna can still sing. And like elusivedragon said, she looks pretty darn good for her age. Her style of music needs to evolve with her age, or she'll just be a big joke soon.

I think so. She's always had a good, strong voice. She sounds good performing live too. Most female acts today are all about looks. If they have a decent body, they can dance, and their willing to perform and pose almost naked, it really deoesn't matter too much whether or not they can actually sing. Modonna has done all that sleezy stuff too, but she also has some legitimate singing talent. I'm really not a fan of hers, but I'll give credit where credit it due.

hmmm....I never took Madonna as really a singer, I seen her more for her trendsetting styles from an entertainment standpoint. When I think singers, I think of Whitney Houston (before the crack), Mariah Carey, Toni Braxton, Taylor Dane...just to name a few of the veteran singers in the industry.

You've got ot be joking when you say Madonna can't sing. If she couldn't she wouldn't still be on the same label, or created her own for that matter, if that was the case. How many singers are still in the business today that have been in it as long as she has? Not a whole lot. More top 10 singles than Elvis should be another clue that she can sing as well. What's with the hating? Not saying you HAVE to be a fan but damn, at least be honest for the sake of opinion. And I agree with DJ_X_Trodinaire, Hung Up Remix bangs in the clubs.

omg Mariah?? sing? she whines..I guess I am NOT a big fan of that "dragging on words for ever" kind of singing. AHHH!

Oh yeah as for hung-up remixes that is how I first heard it, on SIRIUS Area 33 ...they had a very good mix of it that was awesome...didnt know it was Madonna till I looked lol.

It was a nice mix though, they have another one out now I do not like as muchj, it is ok..original song is not bad either.

^damn right! Plus it's a music video for God's sake. Would you want to really see Madonna and middle aged men making out? You're one sick man.

There are actually quite a few still in the industry today as long as she has been. Doesn't take much to find that out. And singing ability has nothing to do with people having record deals and or stying with the same label....case in point Britney Spears. Album sales or longevity in the industry has not been directly link to singing ability. Some people make it due to their likeability and ability to entertain. Top 10 singles mean nothing at all, there are plenty of crappy singles that make it to the top 10 or even the number one spot (i.e. Chris Brown "run it" which was just recently #1). Trust me I do way to much reading about whats going on in the industry and love music way too much to know that all the things you just pointed out have nothing to do with people's ability to sing. There are plenty of singers far greater than Madonna, who will out sing her on their worst day, who have not had Top 10 singles or her amount of record sales. Hell I even know people without deals who can sing better than her. How do you explain that?

You call it hating, I call it the truth.

Don't get me wrong I am not what you would consider a fan of Mariah but back in the day she could sing her @** off. I was simply using it as an example of true singers, not just someone who can hold a note.

Mariah BACK IN THE DAY is the key here, she can't sing her way out of jail at this point! Madona on the otherhand has mellowed and improved with age. Listen to her voice on the first couple of albums, good songs, but her voice is not developed. Listen to the same songs sung by her today and they are much, much better because she is also.

Come on, you guys/gals can't really believe that Ashley Simpson, Britney, or any of these other "entertainers" will be around to have a 20, 30 or 40 year carees like Madonna, Cher, Tina and others. Yes, i included Cher, she deserves it, at least 1 number 1 in every decade since the 1960's, and she don't look half bad for a 60yo woman. Yes I know, most of her body parts are only a few years old but the frame is still 60 and can move!

I'm sure they probably said the same thing about Madonna when she first came out "in 20,30 or 40 years, she won't be around". The key is we never know, and definitely cannot focus on what they do now and try to compare that to 20+ years from now.....wouldn't make sense. If the same was done to Madonna when she came out, who would have anticipated she'd still be around? The key is reinventing yourself and changing with the times. That's how you have longevity. No Mariah cannot sing now, but her album released in April has sold a certified 4million copies to date. And just for a nice comparison factor....Madonna's new album has been on the billboard charts for 2weeks and has dropped from #1 to #4. Mariahs album has been on the charts for 33weeks and is still holding down the #6 spot....talk about longevity!
