Default EL Prototypes Header Installed...

Well this morning I had my new header installed. It only took them about an hour and it was very straight forward.

I am very happy with the results. The car now runs through the powerband very nice. Before it felt like it struggled in the upper rev's, now it just breaths. If you have an intake and exhaust, I would recommend this as your next mod.

Best part is now that at $200 its a great deal, I'll have some pics up very soon.

They are very nice guys there and have excellent customer service.

My current power mods are:

EL Prototypes Header
Injen Intake
Magnaflow muffler

If anyone is interested you can contact them by email at elproto@aol.com
or by phone at 626-812-4358.

Here are the pics of the stock header. You can see where the main problem with it is, the tubes get flattened and that’s where a lot of power is lost...

Here is another of the stock header, as you can see, even though the openings look to be very big, it’s just an illusion...

Here are a couple shots of the ELP Header, it’s a very nice piece. And unlike other company's designs, these ones actually have the bracket to support it.

And here are some side by side shots of the stock and ELP Header...

Was it much louder than before? How does it sound off the line? I really want to install headers but dont want additional noise.

Its sounds just like it did before with my exhaust. I have not noticed it being any louder.

It seems like, as is the case with the DC header, that people notice a nice gain in the higher RPMs. However, I am really curious as to the effect in the lower range. Do you feel a bit of a lag in the 0 to 3000 rpm or is this trade off not that noticeable?

I have not felt any loss in torque, in fact i can say that theres an increase. The car really moves now, its a very noticable feeling. Like I said before, its a great mod for $200

If anyone is interested you can contact them by email at elproto@aol.com
or by phone at 626-812-4358. They are located in Azusa, CA and are really great guys.

the hedder is the same size to fit the original exhaust. there is no collector pipe that connects to the hedder. The hedder just bolts on to the stock motor and exhaust. :D
I need to get one of those things, I drove Rodney_Ray 's after I installed it and dam! I need one!

What about the gas mileage? is it affected in any way? I already have AEM CAI and Tanabe Muffler.

it does look the same, but the DC does not have the bracket for the motor bracket. And the DC isn't as shiney, dam the EL is nice.

One thing you guys should know, they are made in batches, and when they run out of inventory you have to wait for the next run, so if your interested you should order early. I know a lot of Echo guys are jumping on these right now.
