Default Precision axelback or Strup?

Well for xmas my gf said she will buy me an exhaust.I was gonna get the Precision Muffler axelback for $240 but now Strup axelback is on sale for $250. I dont like ricy sound and dont want it too loud. Anybody have any opinions to help me choose?
Thanx

First, let me qualify this with the fact that I do not own either.

Everything I have seen regarding axle back exhaust systems on the xB and performance says that they all perform about the same. There really isn't a whole lot to be gained performance wise with an axle-back alone.

That being said, I would spend the extra $10 on the Strup over the Precision system. Mostly because the added features you get with the Strup vs. the Precision axle-back. The Strup is full stainless construction and mandrel bent. The Precision uses mild steel tubing and uses standard bends. You can get a similar exhaust bent up and installed at a local muffler shop for under $200.

This isn't to say that either company is better to deal with than the other. From what I have seen on these forums, both are great, respectable companies.

Bottom line though... with the price so close, choose the one YOU like best.

Default Axle-back

I have owned the Precision axle-back for nearly a year and a half. The sound is low and deep on take-off and varies as you speed up depending on how much you press the gas pedal. The best part though, at freeway speeds, the noise is close to stock level. It doesn't invade the passenger compartment with overwhelming noise. Now... that's the reason why I bought it! I am pretty happy with it. :D

Topic creator- where'd you find a Strup that cheap?

Reason is, I'm finally able to order an exhaust tonight, and was going to go with the precision muffler, but an above poster brought up a point a didn't notice, about the Strup having mandrel bends and full stainless.

I had the vs. 1 and switched to vs 2 when it came out for better ground clearance. (I got the first one off the line. )

Half my club is rolling with Strup. :D
