Default Scion xA 06 Aux Problem

I just recently purchased a xA 06 and the AUX input doesn't seem to be working. I tried working it with my MP3 player and my friend's ipod with no success. However, the IPOD input connector that came with it did work. At first I thought it might be that the stereo was set to "Car Type tC" but I changed it to xA and it still doesn't work. Any suggestions? Thanks.

When I use my MP3 player I need to turn the volume way up on both the MP# and the HU.

I don't have the AUX, but I'd suggest looking in the manual if you havn't done so yet....there may be something you forgetting to do...
