Dash noises / vibrations / resonance with SC
First thing I noticed after getting the SC in October was a whole new set of buzzing noises coming from the dash at various RPMs. Had the dealer take a look at it - the guys spent 2 days soundproofing anything they could find, but now, almost 3 months later I still have a buzz at 4500rpm that I tried to fix last night - pulled the dash out, dynomatted couple of suspicious spots, drove the car - seemed to be ok, but when I put everything *completely* back together - center console and such, the buzz came back.
I'm going to keep working on it, but was wondering if anyone else has the annoying new noises that appeared after the SC install. And I'm not talking about the "semi-truck style" whirring noise when you are coasting on the parking lot...
And a little scary picture from last night:

I get the same dash buzz at around 3000-3300 RPMs, its really annoying...it seems that the sound is getting amplified coming through the drivers side front vent. It definitely drives me crazy at highway speeds

wow, you tore that dash up. Is it really that annoying, like will the music drown it out cause I got the SC on order, but if it is, I think I can bear it for the results that comes with the SC.
Yea, i get the same noise, but only if after accelerating and letting off the gas while without pushing in the clutch. But yea, it sounds like its coming from the around the driver side AC vent.

Looks like a lot of people are getting these noises. These are not normal noises that are mentioned in the SC disclaimer. They have to be fixed by dealers or Toyco needs to get a TSB out and give the dealers some sort of guidlines as to fighting these noises.
Yep, same problem really for me too. Vibration coming from under the dash, right by the gas pedal...I happened to rest my foot against a piece of plastic that was vibrating, which actually muffled the vibration - looking to see if the dealership will muffle the noise for me permanently. Vibration occures 3500-3800 rpms, around 80-85 mph.
Yea I hear the sound as well. Now that I have the ZPI boost pulley its pretty loud at 4000-4500 rpm. I have a sound system so I hardly hear it. I can see how it is annoying but I got used to it so it doesn't both me anymore.
The sound comes from a plastic panel right next to your gas pedal. Rev your car up to around 4K and listen, put your hand on the panel and it will go away
Mine did it and it drove me nuts. Finally found it when I had some spare time. I pulled on it and part of a clip holding it broke and now there is no sound!!!!
