Default Trunk/hatch opening problem..

I've been noticing the past week or so, my trunk makes a loud "klunk" noise- and sticks a bit when opening the hatch fully. It's gotten worse the past couple days, and my car is now about 50 miles over the 36,000 mile mark. It's almost to the point where I have to pull up kinda hard just to get it open, and the thing sounds like it's going to break or snap when I do so. I'm just trying to figure out if there's a problem with the hatch.. is it getting ready to break?

Has anyone else experienced this problem? I'm worried if I take it into the dealer they'll charge me an arm and a leg just to look at the damn thing.

It should be under warranty and may have just come out of alignment...

They should repair it for you no problem, especially if you can clearly demonstrate the problem for them

Yea I just called my dealership and they said even if my car is like 1 mile over 36,000 then it's not covered. Such BS. Fortunately I know the service manager a bit and he said he's going to try to "pull some strings" and have it fixed at no cost. Whatever.. I'll probably end up having to pay for it. God I hate myself sometimes.
