Thats what I want to know, it does not look safe. One touch and
the rims will be toast. Why would anyone want to stretch tires
beyond the safe limits and leave the rims open for serious injury?
Ok, seriously is it because one cannot afford the right size tires
or is there some kind of special look one is trying to acheive.

It's a look thing. Some say the performance is actually decreased because of streching tires because under hard cornering, you're rolling onto yoru sidewalls. I've heard rumors of the bead popping off the rim, too.
It's just a style thing. Some like it, some don't. It's been around for quite some time in European car-tuning circles.
Hmmm, black xB with gold Equips. I'm sure you guys have seen it before or there is another post that has someone's black xB with Gold Equips. Old news from someone new.
your right it is nothing new. the only difference is that he stretched 205's on a 9.5 and 8.5. i've never seen anyone run such an extreme strech on equips.
