Default What causes the car to hop ?

I did a search on this and did not find anything... so here it goes

We have all seen the dropped civics with the tail end hopping in the freeway. What exactly causes this? What keeps a dropped TC from developing the hop?

What are the effects on traction when the car does not settle on the road?

I imagine that the struts are blown... but I will let people with more experience give me their .02 cents

If you see a car bouncing down the freeway, they likely have cut their stock springs which is the worst way to do it. If you use quality springs, you wont have any problem with that.
