CRACK in plastic around window!
I found a crack yesterday in the plastic that meets the rear door on the passenger side! Does anyone else have a crack in their plastic?
We were at a meet on Sunday and there was another Scion xB there that had the same type of crack, only on the drivers side.
Here is are some links to pictures of the crack.

My first post has links to the crack.
And yeah, I totally have to give the hatch a good push to shut it, but i thought that it was because the mat was shifted or something.

I have the same crack on the passenger side. I Think it is suppose to be there.. The crack is straight across, kinda like it joining the two pieces of plastic together. If it was a stress crack it will be rough or not perfectly straight across
Maybe you are right mod7XB, I just never noticed it until yesterday. Of course my first reaction was to freak out...now I am just wondering if all xB's have identical cracks, or if it is just some random thing.

I really got close to it today...I was all in the crack ; ). Anyways, it is not a straight crack it looks like a stress fracture, and to boot there is a small crack that is starting on the drivers side.
Not stressed, i'm going to take it down to the dealer and have them look at it, who knows maybe it is from the sudden change in temp around here.

use Krazy glue to seal the cracks...then sniff to get high...it's like killing 2 birds with one stone...u get high and get to fix the crack..haha. Maybe that's where the term "crack" derived from...lol.
gotta chk mine now for cracks...maybe ppl are slamming their doors too hard...
but seriously...i think whoever has cracks should take it into the dealers..we don't have bumper to bumper 3 years warranty for nothing.

Whenever someone finds out the truth about the crack let me know. my crack is straight across no rough edges. maybe they were running out of plastic and found some scraps and pieced are's together..

We have two xBs at my house and one has the mysterious crack and the other one does not. For what it is worth the xB with the crack was built in June and has almost 7K mikes while the crack-free xB was built in July and has only 1K miles on it. I agree that it looks too perfect to be a break, but it is certainly curious that it is only on some cars, on one side, and the same side whenever it appears...
