Default Is it the color?[do camo green xBs get hit more often?

I have a camouflage green xB and this thing seems to be begging to get hit.

a week before my major accident, a camry side swiped me; then the accident

after i got my car back last weekend, at least 3 different people merges into my lanes without seeing me....is it the color or i have bad karma?

I've always had problems when I drove my crx. I thinks it's more of a problem with small cars. We tend to fit in people's blind spots. If your a young person, the best way to remedy this is to put a good sound system in you ride. I never had that problem when I had some low end bass, but that's cause they heard me behind them...................

Well, there was that New Zealand study that concluded Silver cars are more noticeable than darker colored cars, even Yellow and bright red.

Maybe that people are trying to see your car. Since I striped the rear emblems, I have people nearly hit me tring to see the front emblem.

I had a girlfriend that always got hit and it never was her fault . Thats by the laws standard. But if you follow someone on the freeway in the right lane driving in the other cars blind side and he pulls back into the right lane to exit the freeway and hits the drivers door .It's his fault right but we all know it's her fault . Why in the hell would you put yourself in that position unless your stupid or a woman . They just dont get it do they. Give yourself space and watchout for the crazy drivers. And never drive in someones blind side it's just asking to be hit.

I can understand that. But sooner or later your gonna be in their blind spot anyway. Don't you ever pass anyone? It's happened to me cause I was on the road 8 hours of day 5 days of the week driving from dealership to dealership. The longer your on the road the better chance you have of getting in an accident. Me personally I'm a defensive driver, so I've avoided my fair share of accidents. But don't mean I'm immune to them.

I bet it's the color. I know I have a hard time seeing silver/grey too. (New Zieland, who trusts their studies?!)

Here's the link to the New Zealand study: http://bmj.bmjjournals.com/cgi/conte.../327/7429/1455

I have a 2005 AT ThunderCloud (silver) xB on order and expect delivery in June or July. I am strongly considering installing a heavy duty, durable vinyl skirt around the entire lower 6 to 8 inches of the vehicle including the bumpers. I'm thinking the skirt would be bright white with silver metallic specks (matching the texture of ThunderCloud) and reflective at night.

I'm considering this for safety and for a custom look. Many SUVs and Vans have a contrasting, but complementing, color skirt. I think bright white is the safest color, and silver or gray is often hard to see because it blends into the road surface. But, I'm getting ThunderCloud because I believe that metallic paint is more durable (compared to Polar white) and I think ThunderCloud xB's are just plain beautiful.

people shouldn't always trust their mirrors when switching lanes, they need to turn their head and look, with precaution nonetheless
