Default Shaved xB hatch & more! (pics included)

Here's one of the rear hatch shaved:

And here's a few of the other mod:

I know this is not the taste of most people but I wanted something unique. I am also old-school at heart (and old) and wanted a little something to represent that without going too far overboard with something that screamed FLAMES to the world. I think they fit in nicely with the chrome 5 spoke wheels and they both compliment each other nicely. I definitely got accomplished what I was looking for and I am happy as hell. The artwork is totally custom and was done freehand by a local auto body shop called Auto Artistry. It's also the place that filled/painted the rear hatch.

I'm open to any and all comments, but no "flaming" please - catch the pun there?

Love the shave.

Flames are OK

Love the wheels.

What color and kit did you use for the drums and calipers? They appear to be different colors...

You consider shaving the wiper sprayer? Its obviously not going to ever be used again.

What is the color and type/brand of paint on the Brake Drums? Please, tell if you know. They look so cool. Oops... the whole thing looks really cool too. Sorry.

Thanks for the replies. I'll answer questions now

Let's see...the drums and calipers are different colors. The calipers were cleaned, brushed with a wire brush, primered and then painted with Ford Blue high temp engine paint.

The drums were cleaned, primered & then painted with a can of silver paint I had laying around in the garage, but if memory serves me correct it wasn't anything expensive (probably Krylon or something similar). The reason for the silver drums was to attempt to give the look of disc brakes from a distance. I know it really doesn't look like discs, but there's some similarity and plus I'm happy with the results.

I didn't have the rear sprayer shaved because I forgot completely about it LOL! It covered up pretty well by the spoiler and I just spaced it off.

Thanks, that's exactly what I wanted to do - just something subtle.

one of the best BOPs I've seen. the flames, the rims, the stance, the grill, the little details like the calipers - all comes together nicely. beautiful job.

you've shaved the hatch and painted subtle flames on the lower kit - both items I have on my list. I hate you. I knew flames would look great down there, but I was torn as to what color since my ride is BSP. blue on BOP - perfect. can't be beat. yeah, I hate you. love your ride though.

Now I'm kinda wondering how it would look if the rear flames extended around the lip a bit. Hmmm?

... oh and if they tapered off just like the front flames do.

Anyway, I agree that what you did is pretty subtle and different. I likes!

Funny you should say that, I thought the same thing after I brought it home. I can always add more later on if I wanted I guess. I'm considering having the rear wiper sprayer removed later...if I do I'm sure I'll have the rear flames lick around the rear edge a bit.

Thanks to all for the replies...I've gotten more positive responses from this than I thought I would.
