Default production set back?

I have no idea if this is actually true, but when asking my scion dealer about the test drive car, they said that production is set back b/c of someone falling in a press at the factory. It lead to a week of no work being done. Only investigation on how the fatality occurred. Anywho, the scion rep said that the test drive models won't be out to early-mid june now. But fortunately he also said that they should still be on time for the roll out of mid to late June. Anybody else hearing similar things?

Have not hear anything differently. But what I have heard in the last several weeks is that majority of dealers will not get ANY tCs until June 21-25.

Since I will most likely be buying one (once I test drive, etc.), I am having my local dealer get the allocation for the tC based on my specs. So if I like, I can just buy their first allocation tC.

I have not heard that, it is still possible. But many dealers dont seem to have a clue. I asked a dealer here in Atlanta when he thought the tC would be here. He said the release date had been delayed till august.

There was a fatality at the plant, which is the first in years for Toyota. They DID shut the line down for a week, which will push the release date back. The release date that Scion is shooting for now is July 4. Now, the cars may be on the ground before then, but no one really knows.

I feel badly for the family of the worker. Toyota has safe facilities - this is terribly unfortunate.

Default tC delay...but here's some good news

I confirmed with Scion that the tC demo cars are going to be in the dealers over fourth of July weekend. The car won't go on sle until the end of July. Okay time for the good news......you can now build your tC on line. For me i am looking at $19,000...without wheels

This may be a clue. They removed a link under the events calendar called "take a Scion Tc test drive." It said that test drive tours would start in Denver on June 10 and Miami June 17. I live in Colorado and was looking forward to a test drive June 10.

The link was there yesterday. It is gone today.

it goes to show how dangerous vehicle production work is... my sympathy goes out to family .

As for the release date... it'll be interesting to see what the actual date will be due to this unfortunate incident.

How many TCs is Toyota expecting to release in the U.S. on its launch date? anyone know? ...

obviously the rep who was at my dealer yesterday talking about how they can expect the tC earlier than anticipated hadn't heard the sad news.

Feel for the family. You are definitely wrong about the end of July.

when i was at a local scion dealership yesterday putting down my deposit, the district sales manager mentioned that my particular location would be getting the tc allocation a couple of weeks earlier than everyone else.

from my understanding they wouldnt be allowed to sell it before anyone, but they may have test models available for driving.

Talked to my dad, the car is set back by a week or 2 so yes, there will be a delayed launch date.

Eh, I still rather wait for an official notice from Scion but so many people are talking about this that I guess it is true...talk about horrible circumstances...
