Now THATS my idea of CARDIO!!!

Exercise is only about 25% of the equation. What you eat is 75%. Change your diet and you will not have to do cardio.

That said, HIIT is an excellent form of cardio that works very well, but it takes work.

Do you have dogs? Take 'em for a long walk after work everyday.

Im sure you looking for a quick easy answer, but to be honest, you are going to have to make an effort my friend.

I have been in two bodybuilding competitions and have tried to help some of my friends get in shape. The number one thing to getting rid of the moobs and gut starts in the kitchen. Look at your diet first then look at your activity level.

Yeah... here is an easy thing to follow:

Eat better... with smaller portions (No Mayo, one patty instead of two)
Exercise with resistance (Could be gym or just doing pushups & pullups at home)
Be active, take the stairs, park farther away, & (not sure if applicable) drink less

You'd be suprised at how just making a little change in your daily habits can help. Give it a try. If that doesn't produce enough of an effect, then get more drastic.

Main point: Your current lifestyle has you the way you are. It takes change over time to notice the difference. Stay strong.

Good luck homie! It sucks but I'm doing it myself.

Effective weight loss is going to involve both diet and exercise. Did you ever watch that show, "The Biggest Loser" on TV? It's the one where they take a group of really overweight people out to a ranch for several weeks and slim them down. They all have dramatic results and it's because they litteraly work their butts off. They exersice several hours every day plus control what they eat. As far as the exersice goes, I agree with what's been said above: almost any activity that gets the heart rate up and keeps it up for a while along with strength training. As for the diet, NEVER GO ON A DIET! Going on an unrealistic diet will only give you temporary results. As soon as you give up on it (and you will) you'll gain back most of what you lost, if not more. The key is to eat sensibly. Instead of a diet, it needs to be a life-long change in eating habbits.

Yeah, man, I'm a fatso. But I'm at the gym hardcore, you know? I'm doing an hour a day of hardcore cardio, and trying not to be a piggly wiggly. I don't like to feel myself jiggling when I run. That's not cool at all.

That's great! Just stick with it. You'll be healthier even before you actually see the results.

For sure. I've already lost something like 8 or 9 pounds in a month, so I'm not complaining! But, I did eat a huge sushi lunch today, so I'm gonna pay for it...

All good suggestions, guys. All good advice, and pretty much how I managed to stay in shape for years and years.

Now if anyone has suggestions for someone unable to do much of the exercise part anymore (handicap)...

Here's the secret: excercise and watching what you eat.

Excercise burns calories and keeps your heart pumping and eating right means less calories in and not going on some crash diet, which usually rubberbands you back anyways.

Every one of those excercise informercials is true, that using their product will make you lose weight. That's because you're actually moving and being active! People that complain those things don't work is because they buy it and leave it in the closet.

And remember, the most you'll realistically lose per week is 2lbs-5lbs depending on your body. The bigger you are, the more you lose faster and is safer for you because if you have a lot of weight already.

Unless u are huge though the only amount that is recommended to lose is 1-2 lbs a week. Because anything lost over that is usually muscle which u need to help burn fat. Aim for 500-1000 under mantinence calories. And eat clean as possible. Also wean urself of soda if u drink it because that is a lot of kcals that could be better spent elswhere and and actually fill u up.(HFCS in many things today is actually found not to fill u up thats why u can drink a whole two liter of soda and not be full. I.E maybe at the movies 44oz of soda and huge Popcorn Like 2500 Cals the amount most need in a day! )
