Default Blitz Air Induction Cover/Filter-anybody know anything?

http://www.optauto.com/webstore/prod...=yes&dept=3508
It uses the stock intake box, but it opens it up, probably making it more efficient. It looks like it would work, and coming from a VW background, a popular intake option was smoothing out the intake box, putting in a K&N and "swiss cheesing" it by drilling holes in the front side. This is a kit that does just that, and at least in VWs, the ghetto-airbox mod put out comparable power to a CAI. This Blitz kit looks pretty good, but I was wondering if anybody had any first-hand experience.

Well, I'm probably gonna roll the dice on it, just to be different. Once I get the money (in a couple weeks) I'll order one and tell you all how it goes.

Yea do it...I would be curious what it looks like under the hood...I bet it will look great....are you gonna go ahead and just use a K&N filter with that? Since all your buying is the screen thingy

i think i'm goin to go with that one next... kinda want to keep the engine bay looking stock, plus i dun like how my weapon-r is located, leaves a big empty space where the stock air box used to be. money left and right, jeez

If you are planning on getting it for looks, dont get it. the induction cover replaces the bottom half of the airbox, so you wont even see it.

Personally I find that empty space is a good thing....kinda like the old cars used to be...didnt have 50 million wires running around everywere

not getting it for looks, just want something more stock looking and fitting... spfr is the closest looking thing to stock in the aftermarket intakes, but it still leaves that area wide open. i wish trd would have an intake something like mugen's for the civics... now those things are nuts... looks stock but you can tell it's a god damn intake, things huge and stands out.

what about the aem cai? it doesn't leave the area wide open, it wraps the piping around right where the old box was.!

personally, that seems awfully expensive for just a filter. For 140 bucks you can get a injen or comparable intake with nicer looks, and better performance

yea, i don't want this one, i'm just saying it's nice to keep your engine looking stock... i don't think there will ever be a "stock" looking one cause trd's ____ looks just like all the other aftermarket stuff out there. your right, that injen intake would be my choice :D

funny how the aem cai was 300 add-on from dealership, i've seen it on a site now for 150... that thing dropped a lot.

the AEM one that you see for 150 is the short ram version. the long tube CAI is still like 289

What part should he elaborate on? swiss cheesing? he mentioned what he was talking about in the thread right there...and in terms of the intake screen it shows what it is in the picture
