Its not good for us people that are modifying our cars...people might mistaken them for soccer mom cars...we must stick together and rid people of that notion

Default Don't call it a "minivan"!

They gave it a good review, but it still disturbs me to think of some housewife carrying around a bunch of munchkins in an xB to soccer practice. The day I bought my xB, my sister called it a "minivan", and I almost snapped her neck. It's obviously made for younger people, not middle aged yuppies looking to haul their kids in style.

i agree with k88e the xb was created for the younger crowd not for the 30 or 40 somethings to haul thier kids and groceries in. :?

i look at it like this, no matter what any car company, like toyota, does to try to attract the younger generation, the older folks have to be all up in it. so its almost impossible to keep the older folks from buying something ment from the younger crowd. :?

Time for an old 30-something to weigh in.

1. Watch your words, you'll all be 30 before you know it.
2. 30 or 40 or 50 is not old. Age is a state of mind.
3. Why wouldn't we "old folks" be all up in it? The car is an awesome value, looks great, and is really easy to get in and out of (you know, for us old guys with broken hips at 35 ).
4. We all don't haul kids around, unless you count my 100 lb Rottie mix as a child.

I've had people from 6 to 75 years old tell me how cool it is. Can't we give Scion some credit for creating something unique that somehow has wide appeal? Not everyone loves the box, but whatever causes a reaction in people is not bound by age.

Ok, I'm all out of breath, time for me to go watch Matlock. :D

it could be good for the twenty-somethings that have children. this way they don't have to buy a minivan. i have had a couple of young couples who were about to have kids look at the xB. actually, that is why i got the xB, my fiance and i are looking to have a child in the next year or so. i thought it would be a great car to have with a kid. plenty of room, and i can still do anything i want to it. it doesn't cost too much, unlike a $30,000 minivan. in a way, this article can be good for Scion :D ............................................................ or it could be bad

just my 2 cents.

Yeah, there was this dude (around 70) with a Hot Lava at the last meet. He had the HL AEM CAI, and the TRD muffler. FOrgot what kind of wheels he had on. He actually likes the sound of the TRD muffler. He was even revving it up :D

I was going to slap a big soccer ball sticker on the liftgate.

Did anyone else notice that the other 2 cars in that category were the honda civic and the VW jetta? If I remember correctly, those are among the most popular tuner cars on the planet.

The majority of the Civics and Jetta owners do not mod their cars. Compared to the majority of xB owners (at least on this site) that modify their rides.

the xb is great for the value. i am 38 and have 3 kids. my other car is an '04 sienna. the one before that was an '01 mercedes e320 wagon.

there is a 60 years old man i see everytime at my local grocery store and he has a hot lava. he traded his '98 porsche 911 for it.

Our xB is not, repeat _not_ a "soccer mom car"! In fact, at this very moment my wife is taking my younger daughter to a ballet rehersal in it. On the way back, she'll pick up my older daughter from gymnastics. She wouldn't go near a soccer field!

:D :D :D
