hey im about to order a set of tein basics, i was just wondering how the ride is after the drop? i dont mind a little bumpy, but does it get annoying or its not bad?
a lot rougher then i'd like, but oh well. personally, i'd go for the megan coilovers if i could do it again, it's just that they weren't out when i bought the basics. look in the sponsored section, they're $850 shipped and come 32 way damper adjustable. this way you can smooth out the ride a lot more and when you install you won't need to take apart the stock suspension and use pieces sinec it'll already be one piece.
nope, coilovers that come with adjustable dampening come as one piece, so the tein ss and megans will come all put together already. with the basics you have to take apart the stock suspension and use some of the pieces. the reason i'd get the megans is because of the adjustable damper...i want my ride to be softer
Your talking about using pieces from the stock suspension for the Tein Basics. Are alot of the coil-over kits like that (excl: Megan)??? Cause I was lookin at Progress coil-over suspension. Just wondering if I'd have to use some of the stock pieces for that.
every coilover that is out now except the tein ss-p and megen have to use the upper spring seat from the factory. look for it to say upper pillow mounts if you don't want to use the oem upper mount. there are a couple others in production that come with upper pillow mounts but they are not out yet. honestly its not a real big deal to swap you just need a spring compessor. anyone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong.

Im comfortable with mine. Not too bumpy and if your Auto-xing then maybe with dampening but you really don't need it I think. Anyway, to answer your question, not too bad for $850.

okay ive read the reviews on the Tein basics and the new megans, i thought the dampening would be good but it sounds like a pain to adjust them to how you want it, if you guys had the choice regardless of price would you go for the tein basics or megan coilovers? thanks guys
Never rode on the basics but I love my megans. Just a tad rough in the rear tho. Other than than, it turns your stock potenzas into some nice falken 615's...j/k! but the handling is great and like everyone else mention the best bang for the buck.
i like the megans and just a bit bumpy in the back as well...For those that are using the megans what are ur fronts and rear set on sorry i was jus curious
can the tein basics be adjusted?? if not wuts the drop? and can sum1 direct me to a link where i can see pics of the diff kinds of drops wit coilovers, im sure theres a thread on it, but when u use the search it gives you a million results so yeahh
