Garage tricks...they can help??
ok the first trick is the timming 2 or 3 degrees more...does it help?

people which one of these do you recomend, those are tricks of other cars, and don't know it it'll help...this doesn't mean i will do it...just some of you also have this doubts, they are not HP tricks (to make myself clear) chkt

1. As far as these garage tricks go, some have a small effect and some don't. Adding a few degrees of timing in the old days was as simple as readjusting the distributor. Our Scions use a crank shaft sensor. It has preset timing pattern that is controlled by the computor. There are some piggyback controllers that have limited success. Other option is using offset key to advance the sensor timing ring on the crank, if it is even possible.
2. As far as the water lines to the throttle body, (I just looked at mine and can't really tell what the lines are on the bottom ) Look at a website www.gassavers.org and you will find an article about using Hot Air Induction instead of cold air induction to increase gas mileage.
3. Higher capacity injectors are not needed unless you are running a lot of boost with a supercharger or turbo.
4. I can't think of any reason to eliminate some vaccum. A lot of your controlls operate off of vaccum. Heat and Air vent controlls as well as engine controlls.
5. I installed a ground kit on mine and saw no difference at all. Some people say it smooths the idle on theirs, others are like me and saw no change.

3) actually the more vacuum the better the gas milage, but it only get up to between 18 and 22 ( the old fuel meters used vacuum to tell you either you were good power or good gas mileage)
4) with larger injectors w/o boost it won't idle ( some don't even run) and if they are just a bit bigger the ecu again changes to meet the rich mixture it reads.

so an APEX, could control the hole car, so i must play with it...hmm interesting, also to control the vvt-i uses the same piggy??, for more updates i will post them, for those of you who are curious about these cars even though they are not for racing...

All of this sounds great!!!....if you really want to ruin your car.
This is all old timey car stuff. Your ecu will throw all kinds of lights and/or codes at you if you do this stuff. With cars like these- the ECU runs the show, not you.
The ground wires shouldn't hurt, but don't really do anything (I know because I have them).
