ive been on this site n theres bastards that dnt give tC's the respect that they deserve....if your gonna be on this site dnt bad mouth our cars... also ive seen post that say the a tC cant take a celica gt or a celica gts well thats not true . I have an auto and some how i took a celica gts believe it or not wheater it was the other driver n he couldnt shift thats not my problem but i got the win. so dnt hate on our cars f-ers our cars are sick and have the best modds out there ***** faces... and for all the RSX TYPE-S who been hating give me 2months dikfaces im coming a-holes then we will see whats up

The Celica GT-S must have been an auto as well. There is no way you can beat a Celica GT-S stock for stock , especially if your an Auto.

I race my friends 6 Spd GT-S. He only had a SRI. I had Injen CAI and a catback exhaust w/ no cat. He beat me every time except once cuz he misshifted. I have beat a 5spd GT before with my auto, so its possible, but your not gonna walk the 5spd GT with your Auto.

Your not going to beat an RSX Type-s if your an AUTO, even with boost itll be close if they have basic bolt-ons. Sorry to burst your bubble, but your not "comeing" for anyone bro. They're going to leave you in the dust. This is coming from a guy who owned an AUTO tC.

Just trying to be realistic here, so don;t get all but hurt. Too many people on these forums are acting like the tC is a beast. Especially people with automatics. Trust me man, take it from a guy who's modded up an auto tC. If you want to have fun with your car, get a 5spd or 6spd car. Even though I lost money on my tC, im really happy that I learned manual and picked up a manual car.

Modding was fun though, until I realized that mods on an auto was kind of pointless, cuz your gonna get beat by stock tC's even if you have I/H/E. Of course it all depends on how well the driver is of the 5spd. Unless you run into a Celica or Type-S with a driver that misshifts everytime you guys run, your not gonna get up on those cars.

 

it is unfortunate that tc's don't get respect. also the xb's too. I came from the honda movement, but just ignore the ricer peeps. that's cool you smashed ona gts and all that, but don't call out the type s's. you can turbo nos all you want to a tc, but the stat sheet will still say, a rsx with the same mods will rock scion any day. sucks but that's what it is. just continue to build your ride and soon we will get the love we deserve.

 

The only way you could take the GTS Celica is with a lot of bolt ons or F/I. I have I/H/E/Pulley/Short throw and I took one by 1 length. But that's not a killing. It was a good race and I would say that they can hold their own. They suck off the start, but have great 3rd-5th gear power. Their 6th isn't too good either.

*With my mods:
RSX Type-S is still out of my reach by about 1.5 lengths b/c of it's higher top speed. From a roll of about 30-100, it's about a .5 length lead after 4th, and 1 after my 5th. We can take them in 1st and 2nd b/c they have no torque in those gears, but when that VTEC takes over, our 160 stock VVT-i struggles to keep up with it's 200 VTEC hp. No point in taking it on a race with cornering either. Stock tCs handle horrible compared to the RSX Type-S.

This is also not hating on tCs. Not sure why people go ape sh*t when they hear something "negative" about their car. It's not that everyone is making fun of the tC, but they are being realistic. And yes, it's nice to have all these mods out for the car b/c it's fun to tune them up. I wouldn't go as far as saying that our cars have the "best mods" out there though. We do have a lot thought so that's a plus.

tCs get no respect because:

they’re slower than type-s RSXs and regular WRXs (the current standard for NA and turbo compacts). Only tC owners care about beating Celicas. Nobody else gives a F about Celicas.

many modified tCs end up looking ricey. Many people cant think of seeing a modified tC on the street that impressed them enough to consider switching from their honda/240sx/wrx.

Come on now--you want respect from Box and Egg owners??? Mostly we don't care about speed due to our lack of HP. I hope you are not taking some kidding as meaning a lack of respect.

 

It's all personal appreciation. If you like your car, sweet, go with it. But I wouldn't expect others to bow to our Scions like they are the kings of the road. I much rather would bow to an Evo or STI.

 

I have an IROC-Z Camaro with over 600hp. I'm not really interested in making the tC the fastest thing on the road...

It's stylish, a head turner when it's hooked up right, and girls love my car. When's the last time some chick went up to a WRX or Evo and talked about how cute their car is? I know one guy that owns an sti that's all butt hurt at me because his girl likes my car more than his!

I paid around 17,000 for a great all around car. Those other cats paid a grip more for basically speed and nothing else. I'm happy with my choice and I like doing little things to make it faster, but if I want to start killing fools, I just roll out the Camaro.

 

the celica gts only came in six speeds.

 

With cars like the Evo and STI (and less powered turbo cars like regular WRXs, SRT4s, and 1.8t/2.0t VWs) around, making a NA car fast is not as impressive anymore. Its all about looks and style.

Hondas are perfect examples. Civic/integra owners still do B16/B18/K20 motor swaps, but they’re not trying to beat everything out on the road (because they know they cant compete with factory turbo cars anymore). These days Honda owners focus on being relatively quick and tastefully stylish (usually the JDM-clean look).

Most modified tCs are neither relatively quick (everyone has the same basic bolt-ons. no motor swaps, engine builds, or extensive chassis work) nor tastefully stylish (too many tCs with ghetto wheels, lambo doors, body graphics, bulging body kits, and other ricey mods). Eujin’s ride is a good example of a clean tC that others (non-tC owners) admire because its not ricey (although he has neon underbody lights, which is def. a rice mod LOL).

Jesus... the car has 160 hp for God sake, first you need to realize that words are just that words... if you don't like what you are reading don't read it any more. Everyone is entitled to their opinion... you have an opinion that people are haters, dikfaces and a...holes.

Now what you really need to realize here is that you have way too much time on your hands if this is the biggest worry in your life.

Yes the tC is a nice car, I know, I own one too but remember that no matter what you do to your car there is always someone out there with a little more hp and $ who will be able to mop the floor with you in a race.

You really need to relax a bit...

i dont think you get that the tc is an economy car...a good one, but still an economy car.

 

as people have stated many times, you can't beat a gt-s celica unless the driver sucks. you "took the win" but nobody cares because we know all you had to do was step on it.

accept the fact that we dont have an INCREDIBLE car. we have a good car for the money. period. dont make a tc more than it is, or less than it is.

just because its yours and on four wheels doesnt mean it's THAT good. so calm down, and dont care so much about people with superior performing cars. you got into a tc knowing its heavy, so-so speed, and great features FOR THE MONEY.
