I'd bet a short ram, since it is closer to ear level.

Depends what "loud" you want. More of a higher pitch loudness...K&N. More of a deep loudness...Injen or maybe Weapon R. I've got K&N but it's on the tC so not really sure how loud it would be on the xA. Sorry.

I have never heard the other intakes so I can't compare but the K&N make some noise.

It hisses when you are Idleing and under heavy acceleration it has a throaty growl to it. I can hear the K&N over my exhaust so it's not that loud.

It also depends on the design of the throttle body and the bends in the pipe. The straighter the pipe, the louder the intake will be. Hence, Honda civics.

Those are just the two I know of. Never tried the Blitz one. Just get something with wide pipes and as little bends in it as possible.

im worried, after lookin at the injen intake it looks like the breather hose is before the MAF why would they do this its only going to get the maf dirty. so should i just leave the breather hose disconnected untill i have to do emissions and plug the hole or what?

that hose just allows the intake air to enter the valve cover. If you are getting backspray of oil from the valve cover, then you have a bigger problem. The hose will not cause a problem if it's in front or behind the MAF.

That one looks like it allows the maximum amount of air flow. Fords have setups like this and so do Dodge trucks. Give it a very deep, throaty sound.

description: The BLITZ® SUS Power air cleaners are made from top quality T-304 stainless steel. Totally unique, the entire filtration element is made from a fine stainless steel T-304 mesh (200 micron mesh and 150 micron crown). This mesh means the filter will never wear out, and have substantially less restriction than any other filter. Another feature is the super fine pattern of the mesh. This straightens the airflow and dramatically reduces aerodynamic tumble (restrictive turbulence). The BLITZ® air cleaners also have fine mesh at the top of the filter, further improving the airflow capabilities.
Unlike anything available in the market today, the BLITZ® SUS Power air cleaner is by far the best performing and best looking automotive air filter money can buy, which include all the necessary pipe, brackets, and adapters. They are also available in four different universal cone sizes and various adapters, so they can be customized for almost any car.

they are nice, but I've tried a steel mesh filter and noticed that the car tends to bog right off the start. The increased airflow sometimes hurts engines right on the start, especially ours. Not sure exactly how it would feel on the tC, but I've tried it on my truck and switched back to K&N.

You're only looking at a possible 5 hp increase. 2-3 to the wheels. Nothing noticeable. Noise wise, not sure though. Can the poster with the Blitz intake post a vid?
