Default which bmw vs vette?

im just curious..............

i was on the highway yesterday and i saw a bmw and a vette playing around. To mysurprise it looked like the bmw was keeping up with if not passing the vette. I could have sworn i saw "330i" on the back of the bmw, but they're not that fast are they? also it looked like it was a few years old. could it have been a 330i?

also, just curious, how reliable are bmws?

i kept up with a 330 once. he took me off the line but i creeped back up to less than 1/2 a car length.. so i doubt a 330 can take a vette. i wouldnt doubt the vette weighs less than the bmw actually

BMWs outclass just about everything on the road.

an M5 will walk all over the 'vette in most situations.

A 330 will be all over a 'vette in anything except straightline.

The 'vette is an outrageous car, no argument here, but 3 and 5 series BMWs act like they are wired directly to your brain.

I've never driven a 6/7/8 series BMW so I really don't know what they're like. I've also not driven a 'vette made in the last 3 years, so maybe they've improved a bit. I understand they are somewhat better now.

Bear in mind, the latest M5 with the speed governor removed goes 200+mph without modifications.

Wat model vette was it? Is it the most current z06? those cars are a beast. I can believe that a m3 keeping or passing it. But I somehow dont c a 330i doing the same.

Perhaps the new 3-series coupe, with 300 hp? I forget the number denomination, but that sounds like it could put up a decent fight.

the bmw was at least a year or 2 old. From the back it looked like a 330, it wasnt the sporty roadster type, it was a coupe though. Only thing i can see if it was a new 330i twin turbo w/300hp ..... and no it wasnt an m3

A modded 3 series may keep up with a vette unless it's the new Z06. That thing is a monster! 7.0L LS7, 505hp, and 0-60 in 3.7sec. and that's straight off the lot "turn key" hp with NO mods. There isn't too much on the road that will hang with it.

As far as reliability on a BMW.......not so much. They look good and are the "Ultimate driving machine". Handling is insane but for starting up evey day I wouldn't have one that wasn't under warranty.

If it was 2 years old, and was a 330i, it could have had the M package in it. Not the M motor, but already pushing 290 hp 6 speed. Chipped, those cars could hold with Vettes, and any other mods after that, the Vette would be having to use some extra power from somewhere to keep up. The Vette, if just a standard one, would not be putting down much more than 300 whp at most. 330i around 250ish. Somewhat close in weight, i'm assuming, it could be a driver's race. Depends on the gearing as well. Have to see if the gears are tighter on the BMW, which I would assume is true, or the Vette. Figure, the Vette would be made for all our HP in between 3rd-6th, and the BMW would be more evenly spread out throughout the band.

Now, if it was a Z06 and the BMW was holding it, the BMW was definately modded. 406 hp on the pre-06 model Vettes, vs. 250ish would be easy to smoke. Between the 2 cars though, I would still take the Vette. ALL TIME FAVORITE CAR OF THEM ALL.

If it was an elder 3 series, and a newer vette, the vette was just playin around, no way an elder 3 series can play. But an M class, it has enough ***** to step up, unless like said, its a Z06.
